Its fairly easy, its the gear set in the housing that's a pain to take apart.

Don't know if you have to swap the SR20 internals with the SOHC starter or whatever, but I had a DOHC starter and took the solenoid from it with the help of shawnshawn, and swapped it over, seems like legos easy but the internals from some of the SR20 starter won't come out.

My starter wasn't the issue, was a grounding issue.
