I was hoping to upgrade turbos soon. I have a fairly stock redtop sr20 and was wanting something that would maintain quick response, affordable, and a bit more peppy than the t25. I'm extremely interested in the Forced Performance Big28 turbo. However, I have access to a used "disco potato" that I could pick up for a very reasonable price. Does anyone on here have any first hand experience with both turbos? If so any input on which you prefered and why would be appreciated.

If you are gong to run those I would upgrade injectors and the maf. Stock maf won't handle much boost.

You can get the isis t25 replacement turbo and run no more that 12 lbs on stock maf and injectors.

Well as far as the maf goes I went ahead and went with an ms3 pnp mega squirt ecu so I've deleted the maf and I have Injector Dynamics 750cc injectors just dying to be installed. I'm sorry, I suppose I should have included those details

Disco potato will spool quick but won't make huge power top end. They are know fir there super quick spool. It will still put you well over 300 wheel hp. I don't really know the other one.

Well from what I've read about the Big28 it is basically a journal bearing 2860 crammed into the stock t25 housing. I would think this would cause it to choke out a bit up top but from what I've read it seems to flow pretty well. What I like about it is I could use all my factory water and oil lines. Plus with it being journal bearing it would be cheaper to rebuild later down the road.
