man, 3rd post in this category lol...

but anyways, i am rebuilding my calipers and its about time for me to put the pistons back in, when i got them out i wasn't paying attention to which piston went where and then i noticed one piston has 3 circles groves and the other has a large circle indention with noticeable heat signatures.

now my question is, which piston goes where or does it not matter? pic below is of the left caliper.

Those are just stand offs so that the piston doesnt bottom out in the caliper. I would just make sure you put the piston back into the same hole you got it out of so that the wear marks line up.

Are you actually rebuilding or just painting them? Rebuilding implies that you're using new seals and such, which means it won't matter which hole you put each piston back into (assuming they're the same size) because there will be new seals. The cupped part goes out toward the brake pad.

Yup, rebuild. New seals and paint. I know the cupped part goes against the bad, but thanks!!

As long as the diameter of the pistons are the same it doesn't matter bro.

where did you get the rebuild kit from? I swapped in some j30 fronts and now my back right caliper is leaking like hell. is this something that comes along with doing the j30 swap?

    Thx!

i got mine from oriellys, i probably spelled that wrong, but i got new seals all around and boots. im still in the middle of putting the new seals in and haent gotten a chance to put them on and test them out. but from what i read, it shouldnt be a problem.
