Has anyone on here rom tuned a ka24de obd2 ecu or any dual cam ecu for that matter.
I was doing a bunch of reading and can't find definite answers on how to or if it's possible to do this. Seems like it was possible at one time, but most people now just pay up for nistune or one of the other 4-800 dollar options.
I would like something to play with the tuning on the old datsun shitbox, but am an extremely cheap bastard!

Does anyone have any insight on 240sx rom tuning?

Since nobody is responding, I will begin compiling the DIY eprom tuning ecu options for 240sx.

S14 ecus, don't even bother, get and s13 ecu and make a jumper harness.

The s13 ecus, can take a daughterboard that holds two chips. 27sf512 eprom chips.

The daughterboards can be bought from MOATES for a reasonable price.

    and the chips.... http://www.moates.net/c2-sst-27sf512....html?cPath=26

Also, enthalpy uses the same 27sf512 chips.

I found and enthalpy ecu 13 ecu with a jumper harness from a guy. I'll have to tune it for my setup, but it bypasses me making on and installing the daughterboard in an ecu.

So to recap. To tune... you will need. s13 ecu. daughterboard, chips. Eprom burner, and possibly a eprom emulator if you want to do realtime tuning and data logging.

Eprom burners can be found on ebay, or moates for about $100. Make sure they support the 27sf512 chip.

Now, once you have the above worked out., you then need to select the tuning software.

Looks like rom edit is still floating around. From what I read, it's convoluted and hard to use. I don't know, I haven't used it.

Here is the link for tuner pro, which I will be using. The basic version is free.

That's as far as I've made it so far and will keep everyone up to date. Hopefully with a complete writeup by the end of my venture.

May the fast be with you.

    I don't always drift cars. But when I do, I prefer a 240.

Purchased a Willem Burner, and found a pretty good amount of base tunes.

from ka-t.org, tunes hosted and posted.

Also, traded those g wheels for a manifold, wastegate and sr injectors.

Just have to get the turbo and piping, and tune away... or melt my engine, whichever comes first.
