Amplifier Question

I had a Rockford Fosgate Power Amp in one of my vehicles. Well after 9 years the amp gave out and quit on me. I have not replaced the amp yet so I am lacking on the bass at the moment. I still have the Remote Bass Control knob mounted under my current radio and was wondering if this controller would plug into any other amps or can I only use it for RF amps? Just trying to see if anyone else has ever dealt with this issue before.

I had a Power Acoustik amp for a while and it had a similar "phone jack" style plug for the bass knob. They're pretty inexpensive amps and they worked pretty well. They wont necessarily compare to the big name brands but at almost half the price I was driving a pair of alpine 10's and I was satisfied.

If you had a rf stick to it. If you down grade you'll notice. And not all will work they are wired different in the plugs. Best thing to do is shop Craigslist

^^^ totally disagree with this statement! There are plenty of other great car audio companies that compete or beat RF and cost wayyyy less! I also have run with Power acoustik for years and I would def recommend them as long as you get their upper line of amps. Right now I have a 1200 rms watt power acoustik amp pushing 2 Image dynamic IDMAX 12's and it sounds amazing!
I also used to install car audio professionally so I am not just talking trash. These days most car audio companies use the same boards and parts so you just need to do a little research and find the best amp and subs for your needs. Higher cost doesnt always equal better quality. Pretty much like NIKE shoes with rf you are also having to pay extra for the brand name.

But to answer the original question. While a lot of companies use the bass remote knob, i would not recommend using the rf knob in other companies amps because they could be wired differently and i run the risk of shorting something out The next amp u choose should come with its own.
