so the car has a terrible time starting, and when it does, you gotta stay on the throttle like a mofo to keep it alive. i mean full 100% throttle to make it slightly above idle, its still burning a lot of brake cleaner (i can tell my the massive smoke and terrible smell)

it pretty much acts like a blown headgasket (hard starting issues, bog out) but no coolant is present out of the exhaust, and its not white smoke..its like a grey. plus im not burning any coolant since the radiator is still full.

fuel pump has power and pushing fuel

    i have spark

timing may be off after figiting

but what do you guys think? we did the dollar trick on the exhaust and its not sucking in

Did you mess with anything before this happened, or did anything change?

So it was just clicking at first? Did you have to jump it off? Did you try anything to get it to start that may have flooded it?

that intake mani was fucking polished to hell after i got done with it

yup, i had a battery boosting it after it started to die again

unless the fuel pump didnt turn off, thats the only thing i can imagine would cause it to flood

So the battery died and its having trouble starting? Two separate issues?

Was the car running fine for a while then did this? What did you work on previously if so?

Is this a motor swap you've done? I don't really understand whats going on or what has happened here...

    Sounds like a maf issue.
Are you saying you cleaned the intake with brake cleaner? If so, I don't think that would play too much of a roll, as brake cleaner dries pretty quick.
Double check your maf and timing.
    Did you pull codes?
It's not how fast you go, it's how fast you go fast!!!

    yeah just swapped KAs

the brake cleaner had plenty of time to dry, but the fumes may still be in the block maybe?

    anyways

2 days ago, we got it cranked no problem. turned it off and left the house. the next morning just attempted to turn the key, and the battery was dead.

went to autozone, got it charged, tried again.

turned out to be a grounding issue.

after the grounding issue was fixed, we cranked it every now and then, but it would almost immediatly die if we didnt stay on that throttle to hell. it was sporatically sound strong, and next thing you know, you had to keep it full throttle to idle correctly. very wierd. adjusted the timing some more but couldnt get it cranked, so i guess we should go back to when it was running, but i need help and my buddies are off doing something right now.

but every single vaccum line is blocked, the 3 emissions up front, the 2 on the back of the chassis, the brake booster has no leak, the emissions stuff in the back is all good to go, and the charcoal canister on the intake side vaccuum line is also blocked

it turns, has spark, has fuel. no crank

i will have video of me trying to crank it here in a few minutes...

Are you sure the cold start wire on the dash harness is connected? It will make it a PTIA to start a 240 without that connected...

Fumes in block wouldn't do anything. They'd be gone...

Other than the cold start wire (i think its the orange one), check your maf wires like Zippy said. If its running that most likely means the fuel mixture isn't correct...
