K so I found a nail in my rear left yesterday
I was thinking about getting new tires anyway, the tire's I have on there right now are 235/40/18.
They are pretty beefy but I was thinking about possibly stretching.
Any comments on doing this? IF I were to do that, what size should I go with?

Here's a pic of one of the fronts:

What size rims do you have. I see 18s but how wide.

I am not a fan of the stretched look, but a small stretch isn't bad.

^ Yea I'm not looking for a major stretch, just want the sidewall of the tire to be angled in slightly rather than puffed out ya know?
The rims are 7.5 wide 18"

If you just want a little stretch maybe just go down one size to a 225, but I would say no smaller than a 215.

A 215 may even be a little small for my taste, but it's up to you.

yeah... 225/40's is about as low as i would go.

I can check on how cheap I can get em while I'm at work tomorrow, if you'd like.

    Well..

If you only have 7.5in wheels. 225's will still not stretch.

    7.5 inches = 190.5 millimeters

We have 225's on Carina's 9's in the front. Thats stretched but still not even that bad..

yeah... but he's only going 40 in height... for streetability... i wouldn't go much smaller than a 225 on it.

and btw jiminy: I work at a local shop that sells tires and such... I'll check prices tomorrow and write down what seems like a good deal.

    thanks man, I appreciate it.
And what he said is true. anything less than 40 would be no use to me as I am still trying to get as many miles as I can out of whatever I get

So the the concept of putting a smaller than the rims width only works if you have a really low profile tire?
