Starting problem

What could be the problem? I took my battery to be charged and it's fine but when I turn the key to start I just get one click and nothing happens.

Any ideas?

does everything cut off? Could be a short, play with the battery terminals. I've had this happen a few times.

I was thinking it's probably the starter. Maybe I should just give the whole story and someone could tell me what's going on before I go spend money on a whole new motor. So I was coming home from Riverside one night and I took off hard in first gear went to switch to second at about 5000 rpm. When I went to switch I heard a loud bam and the car started puttering kind of. It was still reving high so I switched to third gear and nothing changed so I'm guessing the clutch went out. Anyways I get to the light and the car cuts off. I get it home and try to start it it cranks but won't turn over. We mess with the timing alil and get it to start but you have to keep your foot on the gas. Did that a few times trying to adjust it and next thing I know heard alil bang and I told my dad to cut it and water started leaking down the sides of the motor and now everytime you try to start it it gives that click and nothing happens.

Try bump starting it. If there's leaks I dunno man, sounds bad lol. You might've blew your motahh.

Eh well if I can get someone to buy this stuff from me I'm just gonna buy another motor
