    SO!
I finally got around to pulling my KA from my car..
but since the backyard was gravel, wow, it was near impossible to move the damn hoist around!

    Anyways.. that's besides the point.

How do you guys place the hoist?
around the front or next to the fender area?

I have to pull another KA out of my spare car and unfortunately, I dont have any room in the front to cram a huge hoist into.
It's not facing the woods or anything, it's actually facing a big make-shift temporary storage that my dad all-of-a-sudden wanted to place on the spot.

I can't move it around because I have my other car.

I was wondering.. is it possible to pull the motor by placing the hoist on the side of the car rather than in-front of?

If that isn't possible, I'll have to re-assemble my rear end and roll that fucker somewhere, but WOW, I really, really do not want to do that!

You'll just never learn, Carlova. He said he would have to assemble his rear end to move it. Unless he wants to drag the bottom of his car through gravel; which would be stupid. I'm sure you could use the hoist from the side. It would just take a little more effort to have it put in there.

Although I've never done it personally, I don't see a problem hoisting from the side, I've used less conventional methods. I would hook something to balance the load at the end of the hoist to provide some freedom of movement.

yea man honestly ive never heard of pulling or dropping a moter from the side, and honestly its better to b on the safe side when it comes to your motor, just make enough room twards the front of the car so u can put the cherry picker in place bro

if you do it from the side, take your fender off. for some reason when i picture pulling a motor from the side of the car, i see the fender somehow getting damaged.
