hahaha wow. Me and vipeybyte just had this discussion not too long ago and there I was advocating the use of "used tires".

I guess it just seems like a lot of money to put down at one time for something that's going to be burned up. It feels horrible to slide on tires you spend hard earned money on.

But I have GOOD tires for driving...and several sets of used tires for spares/play tires. Maybe thats different.

wheels can take you around. Wheels can cut you down. We can go from boom to bust, from dreaming to a bowl of dust. We can fall from the rockets red glare down to "brother can you spare.." another war, another wasteland and another lost generation

How often would you recommend changing out the waterpump?

lol I do not think its too easy to fix the rear main seal without pulling the engine out? Perhaps that high mileage oil may work?

In theory, you dont need to change the waterpump until it goes bad. Shitty thing is, when it goes out it goes out, thats all there is to it and youre probably going to be stranded. With that being said, if you havent done it since youve owned your car you might as well, its like 30 bux and an hour or so of work.

Holy shit a common sense thread!

That whole list is why DSMs and 240s have a bad names... noone worries about the basic maintenance stuff and goes strait to modding.

For the rear main, just pull the tranny off and go at it from the behind.

For waterpump.. it should be common sense once you get a good look at it.

    What a good thread.
Hopefully every new 240sx or even an older car owner will join and see this thread.
