The 240 im buying doesn't have a head unit and whenever i get a car i always just go to crutchfield and buy an alpine cd player from them because they have good prices then i'll get it installed at sound sensations over in marietta because my family has always done business with them and they're top notch!

but i was wondering, what size speakers are you all using in your s13 hatches for the front doors? because on crutchfield you can do a little thing where it tells you the speaker dimensions and whatnot for your car, and for the s13 it says the front doors use a 4"x6" co axil speaker. when i went to sound sensations my buddy said they could fit a regular 6" speaker in the speaker place. i was just wondering what size you all were running just where i could save some money and just get some 4x6 or spend some extra and get some component speakers that are 6" instead of the co axil ones.

You can fit a 6.5 pretty easily up front.

Im running some cheap 4X6's up front in Lucy right now, but stereo is the last thing I'm taking care of on my hatch.

I plan on some 6.5 Kenwood components, a friend of mine is a Kenwood dealer, so I can get them at cost, and I listened to them in a truck, and they sounded very nice.

Look on ebay, they sell 6.5 adapter plates as well.

My goal is to fit a 6X9 in the rear of my hatch, without cutting the privacy shade or any of that shit.

yeah mine is gonna be stripped from the front seats back eventually so i really wanted to run some 6.5 components where i could get a more rich sound becuase i cant stand my music being shitty its just the way i am.

i plan on running the pioneer premier components with a rockford amp i've sat in this guy from sound sensations car and they are so clear and crisp and not too bad of a price either

Don't listen to speakers in the store sound room. They sound different in your car. Try to find several different cars to listen to.
I have Boston Acoustics in my car and they sound great. They are super efficient, so it only takes a small amount of power to make them really loud. They are crystal clear.
Whatever you get, make sure it is a quality speaker.

I have the ebay PVC adapter plates for the front. Lets you install 6.5 speakers no problem. The pre-drilled holes (there are a couple of sets) matched up to my infinity reference components perfectly. The same company makes some 6.5 adapters for the back as well, but the don't fit right and require cutting the plastic trim. If you're stripping the interior, then I guess it's no biggie. My opinion though is to remove the factory rear speaker holder and then the hole that is left looks like the perfect size for a 5 x 7. Never got to test fit a pair though.
