This didn't used to happen... and strangely and perhaps totally coincidentally... it started right after I swapped out the Open Diff for a VLSD.

So I've done my own brakes for years. It's had new rotors all around, and I change the pads regularly... I'm not sure what can cause this, but it seems like it's a wobble... and it's only when braking from 60+

I did at one point have my R&P replaced because of my first and last attempt at higher speed drifting on dry pavement. AFAIK everything was repaired correctly. So I don't think that's the problem, unless it is...

Seriously looking for Kouki side skirts, and maybe an S15 steering wheel... I hate the S14 wheel.

If you have S14 front mudflaps I'll take them. (I have rear.)

Also needs: Aftermarket (eBay) SR down pipe to hack on for my KA-T project. Flex section is fine, or not.

Did you bed your new pads/rotors? If not they've probably got heat spots causing the vibration...

Yeah... I got freaky with them...

The wife got involved too. It was pretty hawt.

Oh... wait, you're not talknig about sexing them... I did nothing, that's all a lie.

Okay, well if by bed you mean, installed and then went out and locked them up a few times, I did that. That's all I know of to do, so if you meant something else, I didn't do it. lol

I supposed I can just replace the damn things all around and see what happens.

This is pretty hardcore shudder... it's making the steering wheel bounce around pretty good. Like, if I had crazy arm fat... it would jiggle.

Another thing... I've been battling sticky rear calipers for over a year, replacing/rebuilding the calipers, and letting them run through a set of pads to see if it's fixed... there may be R side caliper that is still sticking in the rear. Would that cause a shudder like that?

The left side was good, and last install day I installed the right side caliper off Tyler's green parts car, so I'm hoping that one is good and doesn't need replacing again.

They were AutoZone specials... or was it Advanced... can't remember.

But they're less than two years old, so they shouldn't be facked up, but who knows... I'll have to check them out...

But yeah... I'm thinking replace them with some drilled/slotted rotors for when I install the -T... little better stoppage.

I was thinking this might be related to something not the brakes, but I guess it only happening when I hit the brakes would indicate brakes... or something that doesn't like the weight shift/deceleration... I don't know. It sucks though.

I would check the suspenion components. I had a wicked shudder on my s14 after installing some new brake parts. ended up having nothing to do with the new pads or rotors. if suspension looks good and is torqued to spec at least you've eliminated that as a possible cause.

Most likely the rotors. You can have them turned but they are cheap enough to buy new ones. Use a dial indicator to check the rotor. You can make a cheap homemade one with some stiff wire. Just hook the wire to the spindle housing and bend it so it almost touches the rotor. Then spin the rotor slowly and watch the distance between the wire and rotor.

hopefully you are checking the suspension arms too (as stated by someone in previous post). on the way home after an event i had to brake kinda hard fro an idiot on the highway and my car shook like hell and changed lanes for me. turns out i broke one of the tension rod bolts and thus the tension rod was just flailing about.
