Okay, not to be unappreciative of Zippy's efforts, but you're going to need to learn a whole lot in order to know what he knows...

Really good resource is www.ka-t.org Can't beat it. The "DOHC Turbo for Dummies" is a sticky in the Basic forum that will blow your mind... you need to read that. It took me from knowing nothing, to knowing enough to put together my own parts list based on the examples there, and research every piece I'd need to pick the right ones for my needs, and budget. You need to read everything you can on that site. Save Zippy's fingers some carpal tunnel, because there's a whole lot to know and what you're asking for has been covered in great depth on that site. It's easy to find.

Seriously looking for Kouki side skirts, and maybe an S15 steering wheel... I hate the S14 wheel.

If you have S14 front mudflaps I'll take them. (I have rear.)

Also needs: Aftermarket (eBay) SR down pipe to hack on for my KA-T project. Flex section is fine, or not.

i vote spend the extra dip and get atleast an safc.

and dont buy a bloody ebay turbo.

freaking waste of money. ive seen so many egay turbos blow haha... and its not because of some oil restrictor. its because the blades arent balanced.

explain why a garrett turbo on freaking saabs and giant holsets and garrets on turbo diesels last for 200,000 + miles. and an ebay turbo blows 100 yards down the road.

bahhh regardless lol good info for teh noobies ^_^

The problem with kat.org, NICO and other sites is that if you ask a question, that just might have been covered before, then you get 150 stupid noob comments by people who don't know anything past what they have read on a forum or wikipedia.
While there is a lot of excellent info there, a lot of it is info that may be difficult to understand by someone who knows absolutely nothing about turbo charging a car.
I don't want to pimp another site here anyway, as I think we are way above the other forum sites.
I will keep updating this information on a daily basis if I'm able, so eventually there will be a simple easy to understand list, with explanations of why and not just how.

I've run several ebay turbo's without issue with an oil restrictor. Never had a balance problem as of yet and my new set up is running a t3/4 ebay. Would I rather have a Garret? You bet your sweet hedghog lovin' ass I would, but money is always an issue, especially with the 240Atlanta crowd.
And a SAFC with an FMU is a waste of money.

Yeah, I feel you on that, we're short on content though. There's a lot of really smart people posting good info on ka-t.org, but with anything you do need to weed through the BS. Lots of conflicting info around... I don't know much about NICO. I don't go there a whole lot, started out going there, but lost interest after about the 500000th thread on a kouki convertion...

But yeah, 240atlanta could certainly use content from someone with your experience. Tell us all you know.

Well, I'll do my best. I hope to keep this informative without too much technical BS.
I want someone to be able to read the original post and see what it takes to build a turbo set up, and at least have a little better understanding of how most of it works.
