Since I've spent the last few weeks working my ass to the bone, I'm too lazy to search.

I think your responses will be interesting though...

What does it take to get a KA/CA/SR into an AE86? I just got a killer deal on a hatchback GT-S shell, and I know nothing of toyota or their motors, and have a few KA's laying around. I was thinking of swapping in my extra KA single cam, and then later possibly an SR or KA...

I'm guessing if you can fab up your own mounts.. you should be golden...
just run ka harness and splice it into your ae86 harness?

i dont know the wiring work.
mechanics seem not too hard.. just need mounts and ds.

That's what I was thinking... but I have no fab skills. I can think of a few people who might be able to help out with that.

I'm wondering about exhaust clearances, wiring, the whole gammit.

It's not hard at all ...

The only mount you really have to fab up is the tranny bracket.

ive seen KA swaps on club4ag.com and hachiroku.net I was gonna go for SR swap when I had AE86 but chose 4agze instead. It shouldnt be that hard to drop KA though.

Why would you swap a KA into something that didnt already have a KA in it...

I would go with an SR or CA for something like that. Maybe a NA SR w\ VVL head?

    wow old thread....

I'm most likely selling the ae86 on sunday anyway,

but the reason I was thinking about it was because in my inventory, I have a sohc motor and tranny that runs great, and I have an ae86 corolla. So, I thought about just using what I have. Besides, later on when I wanted to go SR or CA, then mountwise I'd be ready. But, it's kind of irrelevant at the moment, but who knows about later on, right?
