i want to say something to do with EGR, and i think egr is somethin to do with emissions. not 100% sure though since we dont have emissions here.

It's not related to the EGR directly...it's the part of the AIV system, which is similiar...but it pulls air from the exhaust and redirects it into the airbox I believe. The part you circled is the canister. That whole system can be deleted completely and you'll still pass emissions...it's useless.

possibly part of egr.
if you follow the lines it runs from your header and back to your intake.

whatever it is, not so important for emissions. haha
