Just wondering if it had ever come up in discussion.

Personally, I believe it's an AWESOME tool for classifieds. Supraforums, FreshAlloy, and 240SXforums uses it, and I think our corner in the internet could benefit from it as well.

I prefer to do business locally, and this would be a great way of showing who the good buyers/sellers are, how the business went down, etc.

I'm pretty sure it's an add-on to vBulletin, and if costs extra, I believe in it enough that I would pay for it.

Ive noticed it on a few boards. I thought it was like a new kind of paypal, and not just a rating system.

No, you can click the number (it's posted with all the profile info in each post) and it takes you to their business history.

There's 3 ratings, Good, Neutral, Bad.

You're also required to provide a thread link on the site in the classifieds thread, and you must put down a few words for business.

It's like ebay's rating system. It works for both the buyer and seller.

The number is their overall score, so say, someone does 11 deals. 9 are good, 2 are bad, so his posted rating is 9. The potential buyer OR seller can click the number and see if he's had a recent trend of being flaky, or if he's overcome that trend, etc.

Seems like it would be a good idea as long as plenty of people participated.

that would be awesome to know who you are dealing with, esp when we're going up in the higher class items.

Right, I mentioned this earlier in the forums making. But..

You have to think, why is that system in place on other boards? Because they have to ship items, and buy without ever seeing the actual item.

Well on here, not many items are shipped, if someone is looking at something in the FS section, normally its just a drive away. So most people drive to pick up the item, inspect it themselves, and decide whether they want it.

So that systems would be nice, but not really needed.

hmmm

this is true.

it wouldnt serve the purpose that it was meant to serve on nation wide forums.
perhaps in the future?

I ship all over the USA and its a helpfull tool for potential buyers. Since 240atl is large now, I know theres people who are in Texas FL and NC who surf on here and it would be good for them as well.

I brought this up one time, but it got shut down faster than a massage parlor giving happy endings...

But it would be a good add-on to the site. :goodjob:
