How do you swap an S14 steering wheel?

Hey guys what's up, this might be stupid question to ask but its my first time doing this and i don't want fuck something up or blow myself up....:lmfao:or some shit, i have searched on nico club and i can't seem to find a write up :confused: but i pretty sure theres one on onther....?

i am trying to swap my stock S14 Steering wheel with after market one, like i said this is my first time doing this and i just wanna get some advise from my fellow 240 Guru's on here.......:p

1) how long do have to wait before i can start removing the stock steering wheel and the airbag assembly....?

2) what do s14 people do on s14's in order to keep your cruise control...?

3) is there any thing else i need to do .......to swap them out.......?

i have an s13 so mines straight forward, remove middle horn assembly, lower collum cover, the wheel, i dont know about the s14 with airbags, would recomend a shop removal so that the bag doesnt blow up in ur face, which i hear is very easy to do

Shops probably wont do it because it is illegal to remove an airbag from a car

yeah i guess it pretty easy for u s13 guys ......
but not for us 14 owners, god damit why the fuck they would put airbags on s14 ...:screwy:...i guess i fucked......lol.......:lmfao:

It won't blow. Undo your battery and wait at least 20 minutes, or up to a day if you're paranoid like me... You need a set of star keys with the little hole in the middle. undo the airbag bolts, unplug it and set it aside. Then undo middle nut, and then tap the wheel off. Make sure your wheels are straight when it comes off, and put the new wheel on straight. As far as cruise control, I have an SR, so I didn't have it any more anyway.

are you planning a motor swap? If so then just go ahead and get rid of cc. If not, then you should be able to pull the controlls off the wheel along with the harness and move them either to the new wheel or to wherever you can make them reach. Should be self-explanatory once you start taking it apart.

nissan says disconnect battery and wait 3 min. but all you really have to do is have the key off and key out of ignition. i take them off like that all the time at work cause its faster.

yeah my cruise took a shit before I switched wheels so I just removed the cruise cluster. I need to go ahead and remove all the other related cruise crap. If you want to maintain it double side tape it to the steering column.
