okay... as most of you know my drivers window didnt go up and down for nearly a YEAR. well i finally found the door switch and amp i needed from tylers parts car :). so i got these sunday from him :) and all things were great. drove home with the windows down for the first time... ever. WOO
anyhow. thats the good part. the BAD PART is that i went through a drivethrough today and USED my window :) and well i parked my car at work and went to roll the windows up and darn poopy my drivers window didnt go up. so i scratch head and go wtf m8
fiddle with the switch and said screw it ill try my other switches cuz the other switch worked aswell....... nothing happened.... so i kept fiddling with it. kept hearing a click and what not. and then i smell something burning a little bit like electrical smell. so i stopped. so im asuming either the window motor blew or the amp blew again.
i had already replaced the window motor, i took my blown amp out and cleaned it and that didnt work so i just hooked everything back up. then i replaced the window switch and replaced the old amp with a new one and it worked for a little while and then blew again.
so im pissed at my car right now
its eating window motors and amps.
GREAT! so ive narrowed the problem down to two things, most probable. the window regulator is jamming at the bottom and forcing the motor to draw more amps. thus heating all the wires up and then blowing the motor / amp. HOPEFULLY i didnt blow the motor this time. cuz that crap is expensive.
i gotta go test stuff out.
if anyone has another window amp, drivers motor, or door harness that would be very helpful. but more than likely i can get the harness form the same car i got my switches from @ killswitch.
