they all bolt up. bolt patterns are the same.

you have to convert the neo pull type to push type and you have to buy the special slave cylinders or something. you cant buy it at a parts store but its available online.

the most cost effectiveness since you have to buy a mounting kit for your motor set to fit on a 240sx anyways, is to get a z32 tranny. take off the bellhousing and hook it up to the awd rb tranny bell housing you got with the motorset. use the z32 tranny , modify the shift linkage alittle and use the mounting kit for the chassis to the mounts. thats it.

then you have better availability for a twin plate clutch, slave cylinder, etc...

good luck.

i've done that z32-rb25 conversion on my 280z and he is correct.

z32 tranny ftw =]

not only is the shifting more precise but since it has a linkage the option to lenthen or shorten the linkage is definately a plus over the rb25 trannies. they're a third of the price, with same internals as rb25 tranny, supports 1000rwhp, and it will have a speed sensor that reads MPH not kilometers so your speedo will work as well

if you use the awd rb26 front bell housing, you'll have to drill and tap the threads to bolt up a slave cylinder that has the two holes at the bottom, you'll see the casting marks in the bellhousing, then you use a 91 nissan maxima slave cylinder ^_^

can't go wrong

if you already have the rb25 tranny i'd say sell that puppy for whatever you paid and grab you a z32 tranny, they typically run 3-400. i used a 1990 z32 n/a 5 speed

NA and TT Z32 trans are the same

only difference is that one of the years has better syncros. Think its 1996, or maybe 1994, not sure.

The slave cylinder bolts to whatever bell housing you are using. So you can use the rb26 slave cylinder if you are going to be putting the RB bell housing on the z32 tranny.

But, if your bell housing on that RB tranny is for a pull type clutch, you are going to need to change it to a push type clutch setup for easy sourcing of good clutches and possibly just to allow you to use the z32 tranny, but im not sure on that one. There is a list of parts with part numbers from Nissan for this out there on the web somewhere. I think all the parts are u.s part numbers except for one.

SLIP N thank you big help man , i found this link today http://www.nicoclub.com/articles.php?id=288581 i hope this will help a lot of people , now i have to see what to do with the driveshaft and link i hope the driveshaft is the same of the rb25det tranny

on the front passenger side of the awd rb26 tranny there's two little circles about the size of a dime next to each other, drill and tap those for the maxima slave. use the z32 front pump cover and move the fork pivot ball over so that the fork lines up with the hole in the side of the bellhousing where it then gets pushed by the slave. you'll see what i'm talking about. everything else is straight forward. it's easy man, just get you a good set of reversable snap ring pliers =]

in all honesty, there's the big nissan rwd tranny, and the small nissan rwd tranny.

rb25 and z32 are the same guts

rb20, sr20, and ka are the same guts

the z32 and rb25 uses the "big" nissan yoke, i wanna say it's 24 or 34 spline i forget, the driveshaft shop'll know, then the ka's etc have the "small" nissan yoke. i get Russell at "Driveshaft" (770)-427-4898 right by bells ferry and cobb parkway to make all mine. very good prices, quick turn around, and balanced driveshafts.

tell Russ, Dave @ Pro Auto Care with the 280z sent you.
