Hey guys I just installed a new radiator, put new hoses on, then I just filled up the radiator with 50/50 Coolant, and that's about it. I took it out for a test drive and my indicator on my dash keeps saying that the engine is running hot. Did I forget to do something?

give it time, me, afsil80 (peter), friend of house jonathan, swaped one on my zenki... it showed it ran hot as well after i replaced the thermostate... about 3 days later it quit. it was fine though, i just didnt drive it too much to begin with. make sure its building compression in the hoses.. make those bastards air tight. i believe that is all, non the les the hihp dudes will chim in.

get the air bubbles out

x2.

Don't just pour it all in one rush. Pour, squeeze hoses, let it settle and stop gurgling, and repeat.

That's my process at least.

turn the car on let it idle and get the bubbles out, and keep filling it up, i had the same problem with mine.

Let the engine run with out the radiator cap, and keep topping off the system until it is full. Once the thermostat opens, it will drop the level. Fill it up from there and you'll be cool.

Do you also have any fans running or a sucky set of fans lol? everything could be fine with the new setup... it would be funny if you forgot to install them back on :)

turn your main defoster on as well and fan onto full speed. it will help with the coolent filling up in the heater core, people forget that.

Hell Yes!!! Thanks a lot guys! Everything is working perfect now, I let the car run, cranked up the heat, squeezed the hoses, put more radiator fluids in till it's finally full, and now awsomeness. This car is purring again and not overheating causing steam. I love this place!
