240ATL vs other forums

I want to know what you guys and girls think about 240atlanta compared to other Atlanta forums mainly Import Atlanta but anything else.

I was on my friends cobalt ss forum and we posted up some pics of his car.
Then all hell broke loose everyone hated on his car so bad they made him feel like shit anyways i love 240atl everybody is positive or lets you know there opinion they dont say shit like oh god your car is fucking nasty shit anyways post what you think.

^lol @ Dave. I like this forum. It's laid back and for the most part people don't flame each other. I like NICO too. I've never been on IA, not sure why, just haven't.

Quite true :). Not everyone on this site is nice all the time but its nice to have a little twist on things every once in a while as long as it doesn't get out of hand...

Different sites for different people... We just guide this one the way we like. People that share our views join us and have a good time :).

Keep in mind I like to say 'guide' not 'run'. Our members run these forums. We simply guide it in the direction we think is best...

IA is more for every car, this one is basically car specific.

Anytime you get different groups on a site it starts competition. Competition leads to many things, one being flaming/hating. IA has, as it states, imports. We all know that most Honda, Nissan, and Toyota guys are very loyal to their respective groups and almost not at all to the others. When you get a very specific faction of car lovers it has the tendency to create harmony i.e. 240atlanta. Nico falls into this category as for the aforementioned reason, nissan lovers. Its too bad we cant all just be car lovers regardless of make or model. If its performance minded it should be appreciated, but this world is far from perfect so with that I conclude with....FUCK YOUR CIVIC! HAHAHAHAHA!!!!

I enjoy the site a lot. I like knowing when the 240 meets are because I'd rather not go to an IA meet where it's shit tons of Hondas and immature kids everywhere.

Granted, I know that there's people like that in EVERY community, but we seem to keep it under control for the most part, haha.

I enjoy the information on the site, and the fact that multiple shops are represented.

Oh, and I HATE NICO. Worst forum software EVER. I tried to track down the guy that I bought my harness from, and I can't even search through my own posts! And anything older than 2 months gets pruned off the site! All the more reason why VBulletin is so good. I use it on my site, and MR.org uses it as well. Thanks Flip for choosing it as well, since it's pretty much painless for the user.

I actually ran PHPBB for the first month or so until I decided to go with VBulletin for its functionality and ease of use. I like it a lot :). It did cost money but it's supported and theres many addons and possibilities.

My site (before I owned it) was originally phpbb. The software is admin/user friendly, but has security leaks out the ASS! That's how we got hacked 3 times in a year. After I took over, I switched over to vbulletin and haven't had an issue with software since. But we lost a lot of members. :(

I have to admit,
no real original knowledge comes out of local sites.

240atl is one of the better and relaxed sites out there, but we don't have enough knowledgeable members. probably because we have majority of teenagers than any other.

I love this site, dont get me wrong.
There are alot of ways this site can improve on, though.
and flip and all the members are improving on it daily, so we're doing good.

IA is the place for everything. Probably why it has so much drama. Conflicts.
Other than IA.. I dont know of any big ATL based forums.

I like it.
Although, I would say some of the drama as of late compares to IA.

Whats nice to me though, is that it is a local forum, where you tend to see members out driving around, or at meets, rather than places like Nico or Zilvia thats nationwide or international. As well as most people here are pretty laid back, and tend to not be completely into themselves, and are down to come out and help, or anything like that.

I go to Nico for info because of the large amount it has. I come here strictly for the sex.
I like the fact that I can get to meet most of the members here and put a face with the avatar. I like the fact that if I buy something here, I can just drive and pick it up.
Can't hardly do that with Nico.
Flip, you have done a great job with this site. It should have no problem continuing to grow. That will lend itself to more and more members, which will increase the knowledge level. I have gotten a lot of good advice here already, and met some really cool folks in the process. Now if we could just have a few meets a little North, then all would be good.

I like this site. I like how everybody likes each other, rather than saying sh*t to others. Yes, there are not enough tech info on this site, but we are posting what we really know/done, not "I heard it from somebody" or something like that. And this is the way I like it. The only downside is lack of members. But this site is a baby compare to NICO and Zilvia. We just need to let it grow.

I would love to give TurboDave a big thumb up for helping and hooking us up!!! Maybe he is not always here, but he always try to help us.
