I need to get a couple of tires mounted and ballanced. Anyone know a good place in the area and what one should expect to pay per tire for mount and ballance?

Any idea what they charge for mount, ballance per tire? And for alignment? It's been a while since i've been there...

GTE is awesome. Alignments start at $85. I dunno about the other stuff.

GTE, and nowhere else.

they usually hook mounting/balance up cheap, just call kieran and tell him any of the driftmechaniks/S3 peeps sent you over and he'll take care of you.

I think I might try Kauffman tire's alignment deal this time. They said it will be 79 or something close to that but it comes with a 6 month warranty. I asked what that warranty meant and they said basically any time I feel like coming back to get it realigned I can do so for free. I even asked if i replace or modify suspension parts will they re-align it and they said yes. If this is true, I think it might be worth it since i don't need a top notch alignment.

they can deal with very low cars? i hate taking my car places that can't even get it on the lift without boards to prevent scraping my front lip.

Sears: $64.99 w/ 6 month warranty and no problem with lowered cars. I just took mine there the other day.

aww hell. my shop is the friendly under the table shop. aligments start at 50 bucks, and since we all have smaller cars with fuckin amazing independant suspension setups it will not cost a dollar over that. mount and balance is usually no more than 20 bucks per tire. ususally 10 per tire just for a balance.

if somethins fucked up and you take it back to us we almost always fix the problem for free.

i work at Lee's complete auto maintenance at 6790 bells ferry road in woodstock. 770 924 4299.

Wow thats a pretty good deal. Will they set it to whatever specs you request?

Yea, you can tell the guys at sears what specs you want. Just try to talk to one of the younger guys working there because they're usually pretty excited to see 240's and they'll be more eager to help you out. When I picked up my car after they were done with my alignment the other day, one of the younger guys was asking me how much power the car had. Even an older guy that worked there approached me and asked "is this your little hot rod?"

I still feel GTE is the best bet hands down. A big shop may have a cool person that is willing to tweak your car to your specs but they dont have the race setup experience that GTE brings to the table. They aren't going to be able to give you feedback and advice. Plus you are supporting a small buisness that caters and actually sponsors grassroot drifting and racing here in Atlanta.

^^ I agree, I wouldn't take my car to sears for an alignment if I wanted a setup for tracking my car. I was just saying sears is a good place that's usually fairly local to most people and they have a good deal on alignments for daily driving.

GTE is the shit!

I went and got an alignment when I got my coilovers a while back and it felt like a new car after! They went as far as asking me how much I weigh and if I drift w/ a passenger :p

All the chain shops suck unless someone you know works there, or there is someone that is down w/ our cars works there.

werd. going to anywhere other than GTE is a huge mistake in my opinion, even if it is cheaper and has a warranty or whatever.

GTE has decades of race suspension setup, and is gonna to a hell of a lot more detail than any other shops, and they go way out of their way to make sure everything will be perfect and will adjust it based on what type of driving you'll be doing. they're also some of the best people in the world to work with, and with them you're actually helping to support the scene instead of some rich CEO of sear's or something. and yes, they can take very low cars as well.

myself and everyone i know that actually does some type of perfomance driving (which includes a ton of autocrossers, road racers, and pro level drifters) has always used them, and i've never known of any bad experiences coming out of their shop.

Yep! They even knew me by name before i had ever come into the shop since my parents have gone there for years. Any place that greets you by name is good in my book! :) Not to mention they do the best work in town...
