We've had some trouble getting my new bushings to go in. They tend to pop sideways or just pop out. Its nearly impossible to hold them in place to get them started in...

We tried trimming off a little bit of the lip on one sides of the bushings to get it in easier and it worked. I just want to make sure that its not going to hurt anything if I do all of them this way before I move on...

THought?

My highly technical diagram (the red is where i trimmed):

you should have cut it down the middle

you should have cut it down the middle

I've only done one so I can do the rest any other way i please. Sounds to me like cutting it down the middle would loose some of the integrity of the bushing...

I don't see any problem with that. You should have seen the motor mount inserts I had in my civic.. I ended up shaving it all to peices to get it to fit before I realized I had inserts for a D-series when I had a B-series mount.

<-- retard

it still worked though.

Just wait till you get to the front suspension bushings. NOTHING will line up anymore... especially the tension rod bushings, omfmfggofmg I had to crowbar the mofo's back into place while trying to slide the bolts back in :/

Haha, yeah i had some problems with my sway bar after i put the new bushings in... One of my endlinks apparently wacked something and is no longer streight so that made it quite a chore...

Ok, I decided cutting/trimming bushings is a bad idea... Might work but I'd rather do it the right way :).

See my other bushing thread...
