Okay well since ive gotten to Ohio its gotten colder and colder.
and Ive been have more and more problems getting my SR to start. So ive been using the Aid of Ether, which has now fouled out my injectors. They are still getting spark but now my car wont start at all.
Ive also had problems with it idling at like 1500rpms.........and sometimes the throttle pedal has way to much free play before it actually engages.
do you guys have any solutions for any of these problems....mainly my cold start problem......its making my car lil to none Reliable for daily driving and its the only thing i have.
thanks in advance,
JC
I know something that is common for cold start problems is a wire in the dash harness. I believe its the orange wire in the brown/white harness that goes from the ECU to the dash. Check the connection on that wire to make sure its good and getting a signal when you turn the key to the start position. It should be a 12v+ signal.
For the throttle, maybe check the cable at the throttle body to make sure theres no play? You can also adjust the throttle position sensor to make sure it's reading 0% and 100% respectively. The throttle cable being too tight or getting stuck would cause the high idle as well.
Check those and you'll have a good start.

does it only idle high when the motor is cold, like in the morning?
if that is the case, then its susposed to idle high so that it warms the engine quicker. if it always idles high then you could try adjusting the idle air control motor located on ur intake manifold
as far as the cold start goes, check that wire then also check the condition of ur sparkplugs

truth be told im not sure its been about a week since ive been able to drive the car....
but if i do recall correctly it would still idle at 1500 even warm(after driving around)
yea hopefully ill be able to check that wire tomorrow and the spark plugs are done, but i have to order new ones B/C no one around here carries th e NGK BKR7 or 6 spark plugs

argh! wish you were closer to home. advise over the internet or phone is bad advise if you are not familiar. check throttle to make sure its almost 100% closed. TPS could cause it to idle like that. bad temp sensor. almost bad maf. chassis wire, bad grounds.....etc
