Anybody have one installed? I'm thinking about getting one and they say braking changes a bit. Anybody with personal experience? Thanks

Yes you do have to apply more pressure when you brake, but its not as hard as pressing on the brakes with the engine off if that's what your thinking, you can get used to it easily.

p.s. make a diy/ install pics

driven an integra with this installed, I would never get rid of my brake booster

Yeah the power steering kit is expensive but the bbe is pretty reasonable. I like the hose kit too. It runs along the cross member instead of the firewall.

If this was my daily I wouldn't even consider it, but it's a track car.

I looooove my power assisted brakes

I like power assisted too. But the booster is for softer pedal feel and to help little old ladies stop the car easier. The booster doesn't actually make the brakes work better. Anybody actually have one of these that can tell me how it feels on the track? Like better or worse pedal feedback?

If you bleed your brakes properly, put stainless steel lines in, and put some proper fluid in there you are going to have the same pedal feel as you would without the brake booster. The only different is going to be that you arent going to have a leg that looks like arnold's after driving it for a weekend.

oh and invest in some proper brake pads and rotors if you actually want the car to stop REALLY well. Hawk HP+ or better. Something that is designed for the track, something that is going to score up and destory the brake rotors after 500 miles.

If you are looking for a hybrid rotor and pad combo get some HP+ or some EBC yellow or red stuff. I actually prefer just some brembo blanks, they are cheap and the last very well under abuse. Trust me... I abused some brakes...

I currently have z32 calipers up front with hawk pads and brembo rotors. In the rear I have a full z32 set up going on with oem rotors and project mu pads. I also have braided conversion lines front and rear. The car is gonna stop on a dime no doubt. What I'm asking is has anyone installed one of these and used it during drifting? Or is this simply for show and not worth it?

I am putting my vote in for not worth it. I almost garentee that 99% of the cars that you see at Formula D, turner, or where ever still have a brake booster. I would just keep it in there for safty, when shit hits the fan and you need to stop the car yesterday you want your body, your machine, your trunk monkey, and what ever else you got up your sleeve to stop the car.

I dont run a brake booster, but do have a modified pedal ratio...

Can you enlighten me or is it a trade secret?

Also I was thinking my ls1 is going to cause space problems in the bay. Eliminating the booster will free up some room.

Tuck the booster behind the firewall

This is the best I could find, they have a what looks like a wilwood kit that goes through the firewall to the brake booster, but I didnt see what the other side of the firewall picture.

Screw it I'm getting the kit. If it doesn't work out I'll just take it back off. I'll post some pics and details when I get it. May be a while though I got too many projects going right now. Thanks for everybody's input.

I hope he alerts us when his spirit of adventure kicks in, so I can be sure not to be in the same county as him when he's driving.

Taking a booster away doesn't make your brakes stop working. Kind of like how your power steering helps turn the wheel easier. Jeez people you act like I'm deleting my brake system. But seriously who wants to test drive it when it's ready?

If it is nothing but a drift car then why are you concerned with brakes? If it is a "track" car then I can assure you that it's not stopping on any dimes with just a Z32 setup and Hawk pads (anything less than blues at least). The booster eliminator would only compound the issue.

If you want manual brakes then get a proper manual pedal/master cylinder setup so you don't wind up dead.
And the booster doesn't have any clearance issue with the LS swap at all.

But if you kill power steering while keeping the original rack it's far harder to steer than with a proper manual rack. Things are engineered to work a certain way together, like brake master cylinders/systems and vacuum boosters.

I'm ready as long as you got a set of tires you want used up :)
