what the hell is this thing?
it was included in my amp wiring kit.. do i just tap this to an 12v acc source?

it's in the middle of the RCA wires.

From the head unit to the amp it basically signals the amp to turn On/off when the headunit turns on/off

Most all headunits have a amp turn on wire that is blue in the harness, If not any switched 12v+ will work. Then attach the other end to the port on the amp labeled remote.

Without it, the amp will not turn on.

i stuck a sub in my car last night. the hardest part is taking everything apart. lol

yeah.. gonna have to run it along the rockers, so i gotta pull the panels back and whatnot.
i also need to fix the box.. meh.. it'll be worth it.

Yep. Usually a blue, or light blue wire in the back of the headunit; triggers the amp to turn on. If you need any help, let me know! I don't know how many systems I've installed in friend's cars. Pulling back the panels is worth it. Make it a clean install, that you won't regret.

on a 240 you can just tap it in the "radio" fuse

or u can just hook it up to a 12v source and hook a switch up to it lol.

Used the "P.Cont" line coming from my headunit..
sounds goood.. I need to tune the sub methinks.

The wire should say remote. If it's not solid blue it's blue with a white stripe on it. And when you're running your wires please don't run your power wire and RCA's next to each other. That causes interference and makes for a crappy system.
