id be interested in one.
depending on price.
and quality.

sofo259
12-06-2007, 02:36 AM
sounds fine to me casey...

everyone that is getting one to test knows already.

Anyone after this point, will have to wait until i hear from my guinea pig test-ers..

sounds good to me,im suer the quality will be good, it will be a bolt in kit but bigger than other kits.. 1/8'' plate, and either 1.0'' or 1.5'', .25'' thick DOM for the center section..

for the center section i may end up building them with square tubing.. havent decided yet.. and
Godisintheradio can vouch for my welding skillz..

after i hear from the testers and start making more of them, the price will tell from the difference made in handling, but alot less than the Zilvia ones..

not really.. its gonna bolt in right between the factory tension arm brackets, plated on both sides, spacers inside the brackets, and grade 8 hardware to top it off

If you are really worried about it you can get up to grade 12. But then you might as well go to a bigger bolt. Would like to see these when your done. I can also do CAD drawings if needed (for mass production), and/or work on Cosmos structural analysis software if you want too go that far. What kind of steel are you using, 1020, 4130, 4140?

sounds good..

ill be using 4130 chromoly, DOM tubing for the center section, and just your plane jane 1/8'' plate on the mounting area..

update.. i have been working alot over the winter break, and havent had time to start on these.. since i have 2 cars w/o motors in them now, it should be alot easier for me to make now.. i just have to find my damn angle finder..

tape measure + welder = make a perfect one for your car with guess and check

I'd like to see how you can undercut Jonnie Fraz's tension arms in price with equal or better quality.

I have Jonnie's and Nismo's

honestly those tubular braces reall dont do shit.... with those the only thing supported is the inside of the subframe, the outside is still free to twist.

i tried one of those tubular deals bolted to it, jack up the car and it would still sag.
put the one that i had boxed (both across and the underside) and the car now 3 wheels when i jack it up

isnt three wheeling bad?.....

you want it as ridged as possible.
this wont amke your car an indy car but it will help with steering.

like i said.
im just gonna weld my crap and go crazy one day. when i get a welder or something

go jack up the front end of your car stock... it will sag.

when i jack up one corner of my car i pick up 3 wheels, it doesnt sag at all

ohhh okay

yes. my car is wobbbly lolz

it sags really bad

but thats also part cuz my rear suspention isnt as stiff as it could be.

babowc
02-20-2008, 09:15 PM
That has somewhat to do with your suspension setup as well..
I added coilovers on the rear with all adjustable arms.

i lifted the rear pass. wheel and two other corners lifted. pass frnot and drive rear.

the brace isn't there to do much.. it helps laterally and helps the tension arm bracket not flex, as it is flimsy.

stock suspension, no matter how much you brace, you're going to see the car only lift on one corner. mainly because of the pre-set ride height of the strut/springs.

this brace wont help you gain as much ridgidity as will stated.
but explain what you mean by across and underside.

and rucas, tension arms, tie rods, tie rod ends, rear se sway bar.

and i still gotz flex lol

but yeah im working on all the flex stuffz

It probably also depends on your car height.
