I like my job for the most part. I run a mechanic shop in marietta (Pro Auto Care), we do everything except body work and performance. We do a lot of maintenence and drivability repair-work but we specialize in diagnosing drivability issues. I have one of the best diag techs i've ever seen. My boss is a Godly man which is probably why i've been here for the last 3 years, however i'm not making nearly enough.

I see myself in a performance oriented shop in the very near future, busting out bare minimum of 2 nissan swaps a week ^_^

I work at No Auto Parts Available or Need Another Parts Associate (or Asshole, just depends on who tells the joke)
2nd one more accurate for my store. I everyone I work with except my assistant manger and this one driver, but they are easily the two most annoying people I've ever worked with, and I've had a lot of jobs and worked with a lot of people. NAPA really is like Office Space only no cubicles, you've got 850000 people above your manager and the only real incentive to work just hard enough to keep them off your ass. lol My favorite customers are "mexicans," why? they always have cash you give them the price and part, they give you cash, end of transaction. We don't have a red stapler, we got this red tape gun, if this thing is lost my manager flips his shit, it's great.
Lately the job has been really shitty, no business, and my assistant manager is like a squirrel with no nuts, scrambling around like a dip shit and flipping out at everyone/thing for pretty much no reason. He started yelling at me in front of customers about sending a text msg or two, and then 3 of the customers in line walked out. Hopefully none of them was a mystery shopper. After about 4 months you've seen just about everything interesting your going to see and had about every big challenge there is in the parts world. After that it's pretty mundane.
It's a drama-rama, Brit can attest that lol. I concluded that every NAPA always looks better then your NAPA for about 15 minutes, because I wanted to switch stores with her, but apparently captain candy ass the DM loves visiting Sandy Plains, so F that.
NAPA is a temporary job I've been at for 11 months lol

The people i work with dont know shit, im sick of everyone coming to me for help. you think that if you wanted to work in electronics that you would know atleast something right? no one does. i can barely talk to these people, and my failsafe conversation piece is always cars, and 1/2 the over 25yr olds dont drive that i work with......

i should be the fucking supervisor here, but no we have the stupidess managers in the world. they just replaced our supervisor after going 6 months without one, and she knows nothing of course, she keeps coming to me to do her job. O and if i told any manager about that i could be fired? its fucking bullshit. o and walmart has a policy that if they schedule you over 33 hours a week, (thats full time) for more than 4 weeks striaght then you get moved up to full time. well they schedule me like this 34 hrs one week, 36 hours next week, 33 hrs next week, and 31 hours the next week.


the only good thing i like about my schedule is that when i was hired i said i cant work saturdays, and they said ok, well that was cause i was working at my game store, well now that shut down and i have saturdays free! but im always scheduled 7am on sunday....

We have our monthly goals, and if we exceed the goals, we have bonuses, but if we're under, we have penalties. Stupid, but VERY motivating.

I work part-time as a telemarketer. It sucks but I don't have a degree in anything except the thing I don't want to do....so I'm kinda limited with what I can do.

I get to call people and offer them free painting estimates on their house. It's funny to laugh at people that cuss me out. It's a telephone call. No one should take it that serious. The good thing is that I've perfected my verbal communication skills...which will always help for future jobs.

I work in "Specialized Adult Care."
It is a really fancy way of saying I babysit elderly people with various physical/mental issues (never anything serious--alzheimers, dementia, broken bones...) The patient I have right now is 94 and has a broken shoulder, so she needs 24 hour supervision. Because most people aren't apt to pick up the night shift, when we have a 24 hour patient I end up with bookoodles of hours... but also end up working 10-15 days straight on nightshift.

ok latest NAPA news, I think my dork 27 year old weirdo co worker is nailing my assistant manager, someone from my store called and picked up the bill for her new tires yesterday. It sure as shit wasn't me or Coworker C, Outside Sales Guy wouldn't do that, and Coworker B thinks it's Coworker A and apparently Don loves her to death according to Coworker B, this is like a damn soap opera. Coworker B gets her shit all the time too, so I think maybe a weird sex triangle is going down, or shes just a whore and works for auto parts.
Why you ask is my co-worker a dork? she tells her life story and every single bit of college info, southern poly, to anyone that will listen, talks like a cliche FBI agent in bad cop movie (IE reads things in niner whiskey tango foxtrot mode), and doesn't know about shit with cars so she stalls and starts bullshitting. Can't answer the phone in a professional manor to save her damn life, and luckily I pick up on some of her mistakes and she hasn't cost some poor bastard a motor or fucked up something in someones car yet.

Telemarketing for a painting company sucks. It's hard to get people to sign up for free painting estimates when it's winter and right before Christmas. Since the owners don't understand anything about the economy being bad and how that affects how people spend their money...they bitch at us for not being able to get people to sign up. Everyday they walk in the office and tell us how useless we are and how they want to fire all of us and hire people with marketing degrees. Who are they going to hire though? They pay $8/hour for a part-time job...and last time I checked, people with degrees require more than that.
