Im not up on the whole story, but i skimmed the other thread and i think there is one on IA.

Cops are morons when it comes to investigating stolen car parts. And unfortunately no serial numbers, its all hearsay. They can arrest all they want but none of it will hold in court cause all douche bag has to do is say he bought it from someone else, or say PROVE ITS YOURS.

The laws protect the thieves. Thieves know this. My friend had a car stolen and stripped, we had people confessing that it was a certain group of people, these people had my friends parts on their cars, we could prove it with visual blemishes, etc, cops did NOTHING. They didnt care.

So just cause douche got released doesnt mean he didnt do it. Its just more evidence of the complete ineptness of the local police

can someone cliffs notes me? did he make fake bills of sale after he stole and entire car?

Exonerated or not, he still got caught. All because he threw a shit ton of money at the problem to make it go away doesn't mean we give a damn. There was irrefutable proof that he stole parts / cars...that's enough for me.

The only thing Cops care about are drugs, they don't give a fuck if your car gets stolen, they say that's what insurance is for...no insurance..tough!

I got clocked speeding by a licensed officer in the middle of the day and that got dropped. Doesn't mean I wasn't speeding it just means I paid money and the government believes that paying money means you didn't do anything wrong.

I kept in touch with him through all of it. Even saw him at IA with his girlfriend. If he did do it, why was nothing done? The cops completely raped my friend when he stole minuscule things and put him in jail for a year and slapped him with $9,000 in restitution.

They got their money. The role of the cops went from law enforcement to revenue collection. It's all about the money. The drug laws say if you get caught with them, they can take your stuff. That is why it is the highest priority to them.
Got some crack, we take your car. Got a pot plant at home, we take your house. $$$$$$$$$$$$$

He stole a S13 coupe with a very particular SR in it, which he sold to someone in Birmingham, look back on here you can find the thread on it, the owner of said car went to Birmingham to verify with police and it was his. Ever been by his moms house in Douglasville, out in the middle of nowhere, on West Chapel Hill Road, like a 240 graveyard out there, didn't even put up no tresspassing signs, had cars for sale out there, another friend of mine even found his car their with the cops, and worked with the detective on it, VIN was still there to verify. Long story short, lots of 240's have been stolen over the years, Chris Arnold may have not stolen yours but he has stolen quite a few 2 definites I know of, I guess if you throw alot of money at the problem it will go away, karma is a bitch and it will come back around for him. My suggestion get a dremel tool with the engraving bit, SN all your parts on your car of any value, document it with pictures, save it to your computer.

Ok update...I had to go to court as a witness and will speak about the events since mods banned the other guys that were involved for telling the truth.

I purchased the SR motor from Chris about a year ago and it was stolen from Dusty Dobbins. That is how I got drug into this. So I showed up for court on Tuesday this week to testify and once Chris saw me and my buddy which bought the motor from him (actual physical evidence not hearsay) they panic'd and didn't want us to testify. They cried and wanted to post pone it one more day. So we drove back to the Ham and then came back out to Douglasville again yesterday. This time when it was time to testify they decided before digging a bigger hole they wanted to make a plea bargain. There were more charges added to the case though from Tuesday. Chris decided to drive his illegally brought into the US R-32 Skyline to the courthouse and it got impounded. Vin's were not right on the car, paper work was screwed, and insurance was for a 240sx. To top it all off it had seats in it which were stolen and belonged to another witness in the courthouse there to testify, so he just walked out and said, those are my seats. R-32 gone. Chris won't tell where his other R-32 is though. Oh well, he lost one. So he pleaded guilty for driving a federally illegal car on the streets (skyline). Plead guilty to forgery (fake signed bill of sales which were photo copied signatures). Plead guilty to operating a chop shop (Dusty Dobbins' parted out two tone coupe). Plead guilty to theft by deception (selling me a stolen motor). Plead guilty to posession of stolen vehicle 3 counts (two other witnesses in the case which were in the court room and Dusty Dobbins). And after all that he was a little upset. His girlfriend was losing her mind. It was great. Screaming and crying out loud running out in the hall way and kicking the bench. He pleaded first offender and got a split five year sentence. He will actually serve 1-2 years in prison and then be on probation for the rest of the term. Next week we have a meeting to discuss restitution which won't start until he gets out of jail.

Oh and for the record, we had no contact with Chris Arnold through this whole process. I never contacted him back after purchasing a stolen motor from him a year ago and yet his mother has the audacity to approach the DA and ask him to tell us "It's over. Stay off our property and don't come by." LMAO! Seriously? We really want to come to his house? Wow. Amazing is all I have to say.

That is what happens when you have money and a good attorney. He was looking at 10 years before the plea bargain but because he had never been convicted of anything in the past they gave him "First Offender".

Sucks, but at least it's something.
