2JZ 240SX Project Thread

Here are some shots of the progress of my 2JZ 240sx im building along with Turbo Dave.

Setup:
Crower 280 Camshafts
Crower Valvesprings/Retainers
ARP Headstuds
TDF TUrbo Manifold T4 Divided Housing
TDF CUstom Intake manifold with 90mm TB
4in Intercooler
Precision 1000cc injectors
T4/T67 PRecision Turbo
Koyo Radiator
TDF 2JZ Motor mounts
TDF 2JZ Driveshaft and wiring
R154 1JZ Transmission
ACT CLutch (thanks mark!)
Mainstream Performance 5in Exhaust
AEM EMS, 5 bar map

We got the motor dropped in on Friday night. We just set it in there to jig up the motor mounts. it looks nice all at home in the engine bay:

Dave got the rear tranny mount done today (sunday) along with mounting my radiator. ill post pics of those tomrrow.

slowly but surely, its coming along. This week we will try to get the motor mounts done along with starting on the turbo manifold

I have tons more pics but my photobucket is maxed out.

that pics was with no motor mounts, so its sagging.

Got the driver side mount and the Rear Tranny mount done so it sits MUCH better. Mounts are enclosed so they look clean:

Overall goal is to have the quickest stock chassis 240 in the world. This motor will be in a 1950lb car

Yeap. It's kind of interesting to see some of the top leaders in the 240sx drag world..... Duy has the quickest right now (afaik) at 8.6 on a 1000whp 2jz. Then you have Jun's S14 which only has a 700 whp sr running 8.887, and others like Ivan at 71xwhp running 9.2.

I dunno, if he hits 700whp like he's claiming and is putting it in a 1900 lb car... he should be pretty damn competitive.. thats what, 850 lbs lighter than duy and ivan?

yeah a 1950lb 240 is retarded, thats like a 88 CRX. wont need much to make that car fast.

Im not shooting for crazy 1/4 times. id be happy with 10second passes whether its 10.99 or 10.00

im not shooting for big power either, 550-600whp on pump will be fine with me

i mean, in a year or so, after i blow the tranny up, ill prob do a TH400 an make it a complete race car.

the only problem is this car with a 2jz will be in an outlaw class whihc means running titan motorsport, AAP and others, guys taht are running 7s :(

the top part bolts directly to the block and how does the mount actually connect to the lower portion of the mount...
it looks like its just sitting on there..

UPDATE 5-1-07

Got ALOT done last week including:

Wiring up my MSD coils,wires, HKS DLI
Got the fuel system (-8 lines an fittings/ dual 255s) installed an finished up
IC piping DONE
TDF Custom intake manifold DONE

Cranked her up 10am Sunday morning after staying up all night trying to make import showdown. We didnt make it, but im happy shes running finally. I got some minor bugs to work out, but tuning should come this week.
