View Full Version : Do your own alignment?
Was wondering if anyone's ever done this... I've seen some docs on how to do it a few different ways. I'm going to be putting bushings in shortly but would like to get my alignment a little better so I can still drive the car in the meantime but don't wana pay now then again later to get it aligned...
If not, anyone know a decent inexpensive place to get alignment done?

just pay 140 at a firestone and get lifetime alignments :)

Really? So if i did that i could take it in however many times i want forever?
Found this:
Employee says you can get an alignment every 6000 miles or 6 months for the as long as you own the car.
I also found a LOT of bad info about firestone... Not to sure. I don't think 6k miles thing is gonna help me since I'm gonna need it done 3 or so times in a few week period...

"provide a Lifetime Limited Warranty* on the alignment, which means we***8217;ll set alignment angles on your vehicle every 5,000 miles or whenever needed, free of charge, for as long as you own it"

does that also mean when I need it?

yeah thats my guess, i'd go in and talk to them personally to find out if theat means you can get alignments twice a week though :P

So what if i get it aligned, then replace all of the bushings for the suspension a week later and need an alignment again?

i'm guessing thats what whenever needed means... like i said its probably best to ask a firestone person this.... i dont have the package myself but i saw another person mention it on 240sxforums.com
I think i might go up there tomorrow. If this is the case, they would be a life saver.
Also I've sort of run into a problem that I'm posting about right now... (front right and front left camber's look significantly different...
Alrighty, so I messed with my toe a little this morning and also noticed that both tires on the right side of the car were quite low :). Filling up the tires helped. I think i made it a little better with the toe but the rear is still off and the steering wheel isn't streight LOL. It will hold me off until i get the whole suspension done tho... I didn't really have a good setup to work on it tho. I need a flat space and all i had was the side of the road in front of batdude's house lol...

hm..
last time i went to firestone (iirc) they told me they wont touch aftermarket suspension :(
it might've not been firestone.. it was a red building on scenic hwy.. maybe.. k.. something?
not sure, anyhow.
these "lifetime warranty alignments" are so shady.. haha
