oil leak?!?

ok i have an oil leak coming from what looks like lower than the intake manifold bacause oil is getting all over the filter and on the alternator...

i was just wondering if anyone has had this leak and where it's coming from...

i plan on pulling the motor to fix it if noone knows but if anyone does and u don't have to pull it and it'd save me time that'd be greatly appreciated

frontmain seal perhaps?
or head gasket.
my front main was slinging oil everywhere lol

if its on the alternator its probably frontmain
roll under there and feel behind the crank pully a tad if its wet then its probably frontmain seal

do you have to pull motor for that?

i know i coudl figure it out by going outside and looking but...

no, actually if your car is a 5 speed i would recomend NOT pulling the motor
you have to undo like 7 bolts total on the front
like size 23 socket i think... or 21 eh idk
23... maybe 27

for the main shaft bolt thingy size and then like
a bunch of size 12 bolts for half the crank pully
then the other one slips out.
pry it slowly from both sides
then slip frontmain seal off and slip new one on
BE SURE TO GREASE IT
oem ones come with grease already.
doesnt hurt to add more


you dont have to pull the motor
i pulled mine for my 5 speed swap and wont do it again.... too much crap to worry about. im glad i had it out though to be honest.
its a bitter sweet thing pulling the motor.

oil filter is not tight.
