Suspicious Activity in Duluth

Normally I'd only read postings in this section, but had something odd occur around my car. I was actually sleeping at the time, and my cousin was working on his car at my complex. When he looked up at around sunset on Friday, he had noticed a group of males (assumingly of hispanic descent he said) was leaning against my roommates car while one was circling around my car, actually taking a look in the inside. He said it seemed like he was trying to see if there was a car alarm or something. He called out to them, and they quickly left. After he had mentioned it to me after I woke up, I took a few precautions the following day. I actually have been paranoid about it too, and when I left earlier today (around 8:30PM) and was getting into my car, a car with a loud exhaust (looked like a talon, but I could be mistaken since my eyes are bad) passed by as if it was going towards the exit, but turned to the parking lot for the other apartments and busted a U turned and waited there as I left.

Now with all this happening, I do have suspicions also, due to the fact, a cleaner S13 hatch with a 5 lug conversion on the rear also lives at my complex, in the same area where that car I saw drive from.

Maybe I'm overthinking the situation, but I felt I needed to say something here. Hopefully it's just my imagination.

On any note, did anyones red 240 just get stolen today? As I was turning onto Old Norcross, two cops just cut me off and blocked me. They yelled at me to turn off the car, and my dumb self forgot I had the turbotimer set to 30 seconds. They yelled out again, and pulled their guns on me :confused: I was thinking what the hell I did, my day didn't even start yet.

Well they told me that another red 240 like mine ran away from them, going into my complex. The cops did say they checked out mines as well as the blue S13 in my area. I wonder if this has any relation towards my situation that I posted earlier this week.

Update on the Situation::

While I was putting on my new control arms with my cousin in the parking lot of my complex, a cop had stopped and asked if I was okay. I told him yes, the cars fine. He said he wasn't talking about the car, he was talking about the incident that happened the day before with them pulling their guns on me. >.> He asked if I needed to change my drawers T-T bastard lol.

On to the subject at hand, he had said that earlier that day, he had pulled over a guy with a red 240sx, and the guy made a run for it, almost hitting another police car. The guy actually lives in the same apartment complex, and he made a run for it to his home >.> The cop stopped by about another hour after our conversation saying he got the person he was looking for.

I feel some sense of relief since I do believe this whole situation may have been tied up to the suspicious activity my cousin had noticed from Friday with my car. WOOT WOOT!

Do you live by the land rover dealership on old norcross??? If so, that red 240sx was my old one. I sold it to the kid and he tried to "Drift" around the cop that was trying to pull him over...

Oh.. Was it a burnt cherry red with black staggered wheels? 5 Lug all the way around?

Gwinnett has their own auto theft division. If things like this happen, call. If more people called when they saw something that was legitimately suspicious, auto theft would be a thing of the past. You would be amazed at how fast someone can steal a car, even a car with an alarm. Bump keys, cut keys, etc..etc..are things that are accessible to everyone unfortunately, the best thing you can do is put a kill switch in your car, call the police when you see something like this and make a report. You might think that they do nothing about it but I bet very few of you even knew that they have an auto theft division.

OK I moved up here in Duluth recently, I live on old norcross, actually i notice sometimes people doing awkward things, a guy walked by my z33 and swiped his hand across the car???? The thing people dont know is my blinds are see-through from the inside. I came out with my bat, dude ran away.

my neighborhood is pretty quiet/safe. i've left my garage open over night on accident, and i have my 240 and other stuff in there. managed to not get things stolen..

also, the biggest meth bust on the east coast was down in a neighborhood off of old norcorss, fyi.

Hispanics owned 3 homes in one neighborhood.

By the golf course. I left my garage open for a few days because of renovations, but sometimes I see random cars come in drive around. And we even have a neighborhood watch guy that walks around at night.
