Has anybody ever programmed their own ECU? I am interested in putting my hands on a keyboard relating to coding an ECU.
How can ECU's be interfaced?
What hardware is in an ECU? Chip, control board, wires, Cache????
Can an ECU be ran from a realtime OS environment?

bikirom is a jwt style chip that is user programmable, has inputs and outputs that can be user defined
right now we are using Crome (used on honda ecu's) to tune sr20dets... the sr20 ecu's are 16 bit... and pull odd and even values from different locations on each chip... a daughter board is made with two 8 bit chips and the same BIN is burned on each... so basically the ecu is tricked into thinking its running straight 16bit.
im still trying to get more info on the crome part
Theres some cool info/stuff on making your own tuneable ecu for 240's... Might wana start there...

hm..
i think this is the correct address:

you just chip your own ecu and start burning eprom chips and socketing them in a Daughterboard..
probably the same idea as Infinite's..
they've been doing this forawhile now.
im trying to do this.. but i dont understand half of whats on that site, lol
