View Full Version : Tie Rods
Any suggestions for a good brand/set of tie rods that will give me good turning angle and good quality for decent $$?
I saw this but not sure if it helps with steering angle...

speaking of tie rods and not to hijack the thread but how the heck do you get the inner tie rods off the steering rack? i popped off the clips and looked at both my chiltons and haynes books which dont speak about it and now im stuck.

its actually really easy..
un-pry the four locking "washer" thingy on the inners..
thenjust get a nice big wrench/monkey wrench and turn.
my record time for inner/outer was like.. 20 mins, haha..
make sure you could the threads when you put the outers back on the inner.
to get it as close to previous alignment as possible..
alignment shops charge out the ass if they have to fiddle with the tie rods.

i concur.
you are really fucked if it breaks while turning or whatever/going fast.

o_o you un-did the 4 prong locking nut thingy and it still didnt turn?
strongarm it.. hehe
i used a BFMW and got it loose..
remember to put the BFW on the bigger part.. not the actual rod.
the end part near the rack.
