ok... what I would like to do (correct me if I'm wrong) is max out my camber using the coilover's camber plates to allow the 'struts' to lean more inward, then using the factory adjustment for camber, to bring it back to my desired setting. This would allow me to change the suspension geometry and it would allow me to keep using the 5zigens without rubbing... It would give me a more aggressive camber curve, and it would also move the wheel inward more, eliminating any rubbing issues.

the only flaw with that is the stock camber bolts won't let you move too much back out so that might present a small problem. by the way how much camber are you looking to run? but yes that would allow more clearance with the wheel and shock. i did that

Here is my setup sheet for road atlanta, I actually haven't set it up since, so i guess thats my street setup too lol

why so little camber and caster?

thats the optimum setup for an STi
I've tested on 3 dif suspension setups on STis at Road Atlanta, and this is what I've come up with. Measuring tire wear, tire temps, and lap times.

-2.5 is a decent amount. STis are double wishbone up front right? if so then thats why only 2.5 works so well.

-2.5 is what I prefer on my 240!

but what you said in the first post is how GTE set my car up when I got an alignment.

Yes, they are double wishbone with mcphearson.

Oh really, GTE does this? I might swing by and talk to them about it. I was gonna get some better camber bolts and see how much it would help, if any

do you have coilovers on your car now?

yeah

ok. good.

i still dont see what your issue is or what you are trying to achieve.........
are you trying to adjust camber setting back or adjust camber setting so your tire doesnt rub?

off set of wheels? inner fender cover? what is rubbing. cant be the upper control arm...inner fender?

why would it rub?

big rubber cause alot of friction if u dont know what ur doin ;)

the wheels I have are 17X8.5 with a 35 offset. Right now my car is as low as it can possibly go whout rubbing. When I go to the track or the mountains is BARELY rubs, but just enough to 'scratch' the rubber, but not tear into it. Its rubbing the inside of the fenders. I would roll them, but I have a plastic fender flare on the rear, so I'm not sure how I'd go about doing that...
So what I was thinking, if I can bring the whole strut assembly in more, it'll allow the car to be lowered more without rubbing.
I'm not trying to lower it for the 'baller' status, but right now, my lateral links are angled downward from the dif to the hubs. I'd like to bring the car down to make the lateral links parrallel with the ground.

I'll post a picture in a minute of how low it is right now. I need it to go down about another 1/2"
