clutch chatter can be caused by light weight flywheels. un sprung clutch disks.. lotsa things.. normally its something you live with when you upgrade cutchtrain
That actually sounds like a throw-out...

since it only goes away when i depress the pedal.

NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO
I get the same thing, but it goes away when I SLIGHTLY press the clutch pedal. Sounds like a "clatter" noise when sitting idle. I really hop it isn't the TOB...because if it is, I wont be able to change it for a while, nor pay anyone to do it.

I used to have a "clutch" chatter in my older 240. Got louder and louder. Until the flywheel fell off one day. Man that was great!

If the tranny makes a chattering noise, that goes away when the pedal is pressed, then it is the TOB.

yeh,
its nothing detrimental though, correct? :)
My Subie has a decent amount of chatter... I blame 3 puck clutch and light weight flywheel...

I have the same chatter on an old clutch, pretty sure its the TOB. At least that is what my Nissan mechanic friend says.... He was an NVH tech.

Someone told me to just adjust the clutch pedal/MC a bit for the time being
Throw out bearings aren't hard to change on 240s... Should take about 30-45min if you know what your doing.
And no, its not really detrimental, but I'd change it.
What I call "clutch chatter", is when you engage the clutch while driving and it get a stutter or chatter feeling in the car...

yeah, its not terribly difficult, but it sure is annoying to get the tranny lined up with the crank input hole.
ill see what happens.

Maybe not "difficult" but I'd imagine it would be tedious if you live in apartments...i.e. me -_-
Yeah, I have the same problem :)

hahaha...sounds like my mom when I lived at home.
If you didn't know, you can spray brake cleaner or starter fluid on oily-type fluids (the quicker after it spills, the better) and wipe them up off of cement/concrete.

ya.
i tried.
there are about 100000x spots on my drivway.
i actually etched it with Hydrochloric acid, this past summer..
it did some good, but my dd and it's damn ps fluid made it look like shit all over again.
hence, me banned from driveway. = car is never clean.
lol.
