If/when you close someones thread, please post in the thread explaining why it was closed.

Example:

http://240atlanta.com/forums/showthread.php?t=56135

It seems really rude to close threads without explanation, unless there is an obvious problem.

It would be greatly appreciated, and I hope this is taken into consideration to help make this place more enjoyable than it already is.

Thanks,
Allen

repost and in the wrong section

it was actually the first post in the video section (imagine that) when that thread was made.

Right, but I wasn't asking why that thread was locked. I was using it as an example of a thread that was locked without a posted reason. Threads are moved every day. People accidentally post in the wrong section. Hell, I've done it before. I'm sure we all have a time or two. Are threads now being locked that are video reposts, too?

I agree. This is really our current (but loose) policy. I ask all of our mods to leave a reason or at the very least PM the owner of the thread. We get new people all the time and they don't always know where the rules are or know them by heart so I like to try to guide people in the right direction...

I agree. Also this way, when people see the closed thread and see why it was closed, they'll know not to post a similar thread. Means less work for the mods in the long run...less bullshit threads, less action that needs to be taken.

Thanks for understanding. This is why I've posted here for so long.

:). We like to try to keep everyone happy, after all, the forum is here for all of us. Sometimes it becomes hard to find the motivation to keep posting reasons and PM'ing because of all the repeats that we have to deal with due to new members and such...

That's totally understandable. More mods, perhaps? :p

no offence but people really don't search before they post on this forum though.
