ok so I did my front and rear pads today and when I was done I went to go for a test pushed the brakes with the car off and they pumped up as normal then turned the car on and they did not pump up as normal. I then called my dad out to help me trubleshoot and we noticed that with the car on the brake booster was sort of pulsating back and forth in unison to me pushing on the brakes. Is this just some easy to fix pinched line of somesort or am I going to have to re build the master cylinder?
Thanks

1. Did you bleed the brakes?

2. Does the fluid bleed normal if you have bleed them?

3. Is there pressure in the system?

If you answered no to #1 try that first.

If you answered no to #2 and #3 yes it could be either the master or the slave. It could also be a pinched line or a leaky line as well.

The master cycl. moving doesnt really mean it is bad because that system moves around alil bit when you are pushing the brakes anyway, so it might just be the normal amount of movement that you never knew happened till you looked at it.

If its locking up check the slide pins the calipers mount too. They must slide in and out freely.

Ok update.. Got the front lines replaced and it was not the problem all though its good that i have new lines. The lower pin thing was stuck which was causeing the caliper to lock. soo how do i get the pin to un seize? I sprayed it with PB blaster and its sitting over night. next question... is there any kind of valve in the brake booster or anywhere that it would become not air tight? Thanks for all the help guys..

The easiest way to get the sliders out is lock the bracket in a vice then take some vice grips and wiggle it back and forth while pulling it out slowly. pb blaster helps alot

Maybe. Not a bad idea on a 100,000+ mile car.

Check the right front for a stuck caliper. A bad Brake line wont make a wheel lock it will swell when you hit the brake and that caliper wont squeeze as hard as the other caliper and the other wheel locks up.

The left front is the one thats locked up but its because of the bottom pin being jammed. And i also replaced the lines tonight even tho it didnt help it was still a good idea.
