Ok so my S14 was super low, it was lower in the front than the back cuz of the tires..
i got sick of it and adjusted the coilovers to make it higher..
i brought it up like 2.5 inches.. still looks low and ballin but it handles SO much better.. its such a big difference in handling! the steering response is excellent.
im happy with it. oh i have ksport Kontrol Pro coilovers BTW i no someone is going to ask

Meh..
depends on what you consider low.
No reason to "SLAM" a car with stock wheels on it.. that's just plain stupid.
Banzai
10-22-2007, 12:24 AM
well atleast i learned something today, when you have coilovers do not SLAM your car, they r not lowering springs.. they wont work the way they r intended to if the car is to low

Na..
your suspension geometry might change,
but overall, if you dont mess with preload too much, you'll still have the same shock travel. Therefore, the coilovers will perform as it should.
Its just that slamming is unnecessary on stock anything.

well then how did my car handle better when i brought it up a few inches

oh ok, well im glad i brought it up a little anyway

no
they work just fine as coilovers at the highest setting or at the lowest setting
its the rest of your suspention thats fubar when you lower it
i lagged ^ i see new posts now.
i need to pop mine up another inch in the front.

i raised mine up a good bit in the rear, and a little in the front, and it does handle much better now, but i think i need to pick the front up a little more still.

dude if you want to slam a car you need all adjustable arms, tie rods and thata kinda stuff! If you dont have that stuff it will ride like ass cause all the geometry is off. Plus K-sports are valved like ass (thats what I have) and suck at low heights cause theres so much sus travel.

well, they arent allowed to work properly at low heights becuase the rest of the suspension isnt working right.
i worked on slowrollas car at school the other day, and it took 4 people pushing + boards to get it on the lift. ha. when it was done, it ripped an air hose off the lift backing off of it. its an alignment lift, so the little lift pads are underneath the car at all times... powered by air. it was fun..

most places around here wont let you get an alignment if your car is lowered "x" amount of inches because of that very problem.

I can't wait to get my coilovers. I'll be sure to install some RUCAs at the same time though. I'll already have pillowball tension rods and new oe S14 tie rods by then too. Maybe I should get rear rods too at the same time?

omg stock height sucks but i dropped it a good 2 in the rear and atlast 1.5 in the front and omg it makes the world of a difference COILOVERS FTW!!

10-23-2007, 04:38 AM
yeah i dropped mine with some s techs cuz i got a hell of a deal, and coilovers were too expensive at the time, but a good 2" is good. plus it depends of the sidewall of the tire. i used to have 245/45/17's in the rear, and 225/40s up front, and it gave it the mean ass drag car look, and i loved it. but now just 225's all around, and i still love it lol

10-23-2007, 04:43 AM
yeah i just was not going cheap on my suspension so i went to Tanabe, best decision ever. yeah i just have 215/40/17 all around and dont have any problems. just need some width in the rear.
badass240
10-23-2007, 04:51 AM
yeah when i had the 245's in the back, i could tell a huge diff handling wise, from when i had the 215s all around

10-23-2007, 04:56 AM
yeah, big grip difference i bet its wayy better on the traction both wet and dry

My car is super low. Like i cant stick my hand under it low. It did handle shitty before the install of my adjustable arms tho. Now it is awesome. But now I am forced to raise it a lil to fit the 10 inch wide wheels with out too much - camber. :(

who cares what your car handles like it's not like you go to the track. SLAM IT!
