I'm gonna buy some new j30 front calipers and rotors for my s14 but I was wondering if they bolt on to the stock bracket that holds the caliper. If someone could please tell me from experience it would really help me. thanks!

I dont know about the j30 but the q45 are a direct swap to everything. just need caliper and pads.

i just did a google on the j30 diff and this verry topic came up and from what i understood is it is an almost direct swap but you have to remove your dustplate and use j30 rotors, pads, and lines. double check to make sure.

so your saying I need the J30 bracket? I just dont wanna buy new calipers to find out I need to get some used brackets off a j30
bolt on. cut dust plate. Bleed
can I get that in an exploded view?

it would be easier to understand you if you used punctuation.

the 2 bolts that bolt onto the spindle are the same between the j30 caliper and the s13 caliper.
what is so hard to understand? buy the whole caliper from pull a part and take yours off youll see how easy it is.

Why don't you just go to PAP... there's all kinds of J30's at the local ones... and if you needed a bracket, they would have them for stupid cheap anyway...

That's the bracket he's talking about... the bracket the caliper bolts onto will bolt directly to the spindle...
For example... when I got my Q brakes... I took the calipers and the brackets that bolt to the spindle...
Because a Q caliper is a lot bigger than a stocker... so... I'm guessing I needed the bracket... nobody told me I did, but thinking as I tend to do... I got it anyway.

I think the OP just doesn't know the difference between a bracket and a caliper. The caliper is JUST the 'C' shaped piece with the piston and pads. The braket is the thing with two bolts that bolts onto the spindle that the caliper also bolts onto.

Well any way you look at it, the answer is NO.
The will NOT bolt onto the stock braket.
You need the entire Caliper/Bracket assembly to bolt onto the spindle.
I just did my Q brakes last night, and they are much larger... so are the J30 brakes... not as large as Q, but still bigger than stock.

I think q45 has big diameter pistons
I have q45 brake setup for sale. Rebuilt calipers, Rotors, BNIB semi-metallic pads.

IDK... but it's got two of them, and it's a lot bigger than the stock anyway... pretty sure the J30 is too...
Why aren't you using your Q brakes?

Just got done installing the brakes. It was very simple and straight forward, and yes you need the bracket that holds the caliper  .. thanks!
