Looks beefy as hail.

based in GA.
I've had footwerks coilovers before too..
they were pretty damn decent for the money too.
Anyone else have any kind of footwerks components on yer cars?

Hey man, did you decide on some rod end boots? I see your tension rods will need some boots too.

i think ill want some boots for it..
but the heim joint is HUGE.
1" thick horizontally looking at it like the last pic of yours.
and 1.5" diameter of the circle for the joints.
i dunno if ones you'll be getting will fit mine? :(

i ve seen beefy break.
unfortunately, all the stress is not at the bar. Its at the joint. and the quality/consistency of the pillow ball mounts. Later, QD

KAZAMA rods own all. Its ok to buy cheep coilovers but when it comes to holding shit together on my car I WOULD NOT CUT CORNERS!!!!! Buy Kazama, Cusco, JIC, or Tanabe sure there a bit more but there proven.

^So, when are you putting them on? You've had them for a year now, and they're still not on your car. Get to it!!!
babowc
10-18-2007, 03:59 PM
um..
only differences would really be the heim joints.
the actual body quality is probably negligible.
looks pretty though :)

looks pretty though :)I think so too. If Tein can have a body that a skinny and it works fine, I'd say the pillowball joints/heim joints is the majority difference. That was one thing I liked about the SPL ones: QA1 ends.

I know some people running the wicked tuning products. They seem fine.
I just ordered my battle version tension rods and pick my tein tie rods and tie rod ends up.
babowc
10-19-2007, 12:35 AM
yeah
next set i need would be tie rods.
inner and outer.
thinking wicked tuning..
saw them, dunno yet.
want to go with something other than tein though..
tein are just beefier stock stuff :/
Casey
10-19-2007, 08:06 AM
i know, but i didnt know if that was the reason he hadn't put them on yet..as long as u have the control arm bolts
take the stock ones off
see my picture above?
place them side by side
run the bolt through the tein rod without the little side things in there...
then run the bolt into the stock rod.
then make sure they are oem spec exactly.
then you can just bolt them on...
thats as close as youre gonna get to stock caster

meh
just wait until you get all your aftermarket suspension goodies.
install them all at once,
and go in for an alignment.
or go to the alignment shop and install it.
which you'll pay an assload for.. so i dont suggest that, lol.
thats what im doing.. i'm installing it and going to my closest alignment shop so i can run around in the car.
then i'll head down to GTE to get my ish setup good.
I think.. GTE will charge somewhere around 200-300 for an alignment setup, lotsa $, but good work!

10-19-2007, 03:32 PM
well..
since im not running the car yet,
i installed everything.
but if you guys are daily driving your cars.
^above should be taken into consideration so you dont have to get multiple alignments.
im slowly installing all my suspension arms and goodies..
just finished the rear end arms.
i just need to do the fronts and all i have left to do are the tie rods. inner and outer.
Neejay
10-19-2007, 04:09 PM
you already installed the tension rods without boots?!?
Barnacles240
10-19-2007, 06:14 PM
how the hell did u get stock bolts out?...thats some crazy shit....i dont think there supposed to come out
babowc
10-19-2007, 09:18 PM
huhh..
na
i havent installed it yet.
i probably wont get boots for this..
the damn thing is humongous and i dont want to buy a pack of 6 for these two.
i'll go measure whats on the rear and if it is similar in size.. i suppose i can get it.
but i'll probably end up installing it and THEN getting boots later down the road.
since its not too difficult to re-install tension rods.
i didnt get the stock bolts out.. iirc, stock bolts are pressed on the stock tension rods. I'll need to go buy some automotive grade bolts and some lockwashers.
got my red car to run today.
just need to have it maintain an idle, get new battery, paint and fix up the interior.
yey. been a good day!
Neejay
10-19-2007, 10:20 PM
Yeah...I don't think I'm going to get boots either. $37.50 for 6 boots of which I'll only use 2.
Hell, by the time they fail, I'll be able to afford QA-1 ends anyway or a better set of tension rods altogether.
babowc
10-19-2007, 10:39 PM
