The one I have isnt under a hundred, but it is AWESOME.

Escort Passport X50.

It is the best cheap one, if you shop around on CL, ebay, and forums you might be able to find one that is $150ish.

That one and the passport are the industry leaders in radar detecting. The passport has a $500 add on that defuses lasers, like when the cops shoot your car it doesnt give them a reading... lol

Don't buy a cobra. I borrowed my friends radar because I went down to Florida this past weekend. That piece of shit picked up everything except for the cops lol.

Scoob - I have a practically new top of the line Cobra radar detector. Depending on the mode you set it can be sensitive, but it has always got the job done for me.

PM for details and pricing...

The passport picks up EVERYTHING, you just have learn how to use it and adjust your settings so that you know when you need to worry about a cop or not.

Usually it will go off with 1 or 2 bars if you are driving by somewhere with an automatic door that uses K-Band or X-Band. If it is a cop using K-Band radar you are going to get ALOT more bars than just 1 or 2.

Also in your normal routes you learn who has the automatic doors that set off your detector so you know where to expect an a false alert.

Ya that looks exactly like the passports, and if pleading says that they are the same as the passports I would be inclined to believe him.

On the Interstate I use the cruise control set at 8mph over the speed limit. They don't want to ticket anything under 15 over the speed limit, Less money for the fine. They have to pay for the 1/4 tank of gas that Crown Vic to going to use chasing you from 0 to 90mph from a standing start.

On side roads just do the speed limit because by the time a detector goes off a city cop already has you in his sight.
On the Interstate the radar can travel about 3 to 5 miles that you can detect . At that distance he can't read your speed.

Go to a truck stop. They sell the ones that work at a decent price.

I dont have that experience with the city cops on back roads at all. I picked a local north ga cop that was going the opisite direction about 40 seconds before I saw him. This was on hwy 60 in the mountains...

I have a passport 8500 its a few years old but it has saved me quite a few times. I also here really good things about Valentine 1. Radartest.com is pretty cool about reviewing them.

I have both a passport 8500 and a Valentine One. I have put them both in the car at the same time and driven around to test them out. The Valentine One works at a slightly farther range, but what makes it alot nicer then the 8500 is that it doesnt false nearly as often and it shows how many radars it is detecting and which direction they are, which is really nice incase they are running up behind you and you think they are in front of you. It can also show the number signals its tracking. Just remember once you are hit with laser its pretty much over.

Prolly needs a recalibration, mine was doing the same thing... if i remember correctly it was at a certain rpm and it caused a vibration.

Typically mine does it when I have my music loud, or my AC on high. Or at higher RPM's. I think im going to get a new one because its getting worse and worse.

V1's are good but you need a laser shifter... Without you are still going to be fucked by lasers.
