i dont think many lowered 240's can fit a jack under them...
I had to go buy a low profile jack... and uh, it still doesn't fit unless you lift up on the fender.

do we need to have a post your lowness thread to confirm this. Cause I think I am the lowest. I cant see how you could be lower then my car.

wanna bet?
lol.
my subframe was scraping the ground one time.
when theives took my coilovers.
lolololol.

eh
the back of s14 coilovers dont go that low
but the front of my car was probably lower than most of yalls...
s14's have more fender room
so unless youre hacking away your tires on the fender / body... i think i got yall beat... well
not anymore
it handles like ass that low. and you all know it lol

10-14-2007, 12:57 AM
no..
it can go low and it'll still have good handling.
depends on how you setup the coilovers.
if you add shitload of preload to have the car sit low, it'll handle like crap and blow the shocks.
it'll handle like a go-cart.
donedone.

if you get caster fixed, toe fixed, and camber fixed
then get tie rod spacers to level out the tie rod, up front
if you do all that
its still gonna handle like piss becuase the stroke of the suspention changes as the suspention travel moves up and down.
basically slam a car.. spend tons of money to make it "better" never as good as stock height or a slight drop.
sry honest truth
nissan knows what they are doing when they make thier cars.

i dont want to get in an arguement with you.
nissan might know what they're doing, but keep in mind they have a budget in mind.
first: lower = lower center of gravity.
second, you dont necessarily have to SLAM a car to make it handle better. however, since we're on the 'slamming' topic, you can still slam it and compesate with the next step.
third, compensate with adjustable arms.
lastly, getting megan and asking for any kind of suspension performance is like asking a baby for their candy.

lol trew to the bold,
okay
adjustable arms... yes
but you forgot about the tie rod angle
and the lower control arm stroke
lower control arm is meant to be level on the side weight is on.
ideal drop is ~2 inches for proper suspention stroke.
and nissan didnt have a low "budget" for research and development
they build a well made car. and its one of the better handling stock cars ever sold in the usa. must i say this is at stock ride height and stock suspention and stock crazy body roll...
and lol to those who say body roll is always bad... without it. your car would handle like piss.
reducing it increases responce
doesnt make your car handle better
more body roll puts more consistant weight transfer onto the outside wheels. so its harder to break the tires loose when you weight transfer
oh and to clarify
megan coilovers are alot better than stock suspention.
so yes
you get the babies candy

man my car is so low when i go over those yellow speed bumps my drive shaft touched it and my shifter goes up its crazy... i need to raise it up a tiny bit in the front cuz it looks like its doin an endo
carlova78
10-14-2007, 07:00 PM
why do you have it so low foreceder? you dent up ur frame rails. do you turn the wheel and go over the speedbump side ways. my car is pretty low right now
Banzai
10-14-2007, 07:05 PM
well i had bigger tires up front but i put low profile falken azenis on the front so its alot lower, i also lowered it more than the back when i had the bigger tires.
yes i go over the speed bumps sideways but it still hits the drive shaft... NOT GOOD, im about to go raise it up right now probably but im lazy and wanna go ride my dirt bike right now lol

Slamming your car is just impractical. No matter what you do your car will always hit the bumpstops on the coilovers causing hella understeer. The strut can eventually explode threw the upper mounts and you will be stuck on the side of the rode looking like a jackass. Look at all the time attack cars they are not slammed they set the cars up so that they have shock stroke. Hell even the D1 cars aren't slammed. Here is an example of a car with a good setup. But hell when ever I put up a good post none sees it any way.

wow you know ur suspension
If you lower a car too much, you mess with the geometry of the suspension. A good rule of thumb when lowering a vehicle is to make sure that the suspension arms (A arms, lateral links.....) are parrallel with the ground. If it goes into droop, your changing the arc of the suspsion and inturn hurting the performance.

thats good to know.
Also, if you lower it, you need to check your rear camber, because when you lower the vehicle, you will gain some neg. camber. Most people just worry about the front camber setup, but the rear is equally important. I could go into a DIY for camber/alignments, but I don't think Carlova would even know how to begin so... lol
