Most everyone has probably seen this article but if not, here it is. Has some good information on breaking in your engine. Some may disagree but I'd like to know what your opinoin is.

i agree. i've seen motors that were cranked long enough to get on a trailer and roll onto a dyno have less than 1% leak donw 25,000 miles later
think about it... the cylinders are round, the pistons are round.... the rings are going to seat almost immeadiately, with that final little bit coming in the first thousand miles.

I recently put a 6 puck unsprung clutch in the skyline, recommended break in was 500 miles. I ran it easy for about 200 miles then went sliding around alittle. Not sure if it was a good idea, but I haven't had any problems yet. But at the same time, as little as I do drive the car it shouldn't affect me too much

if it was cerametallic then there was no break in neededin the first place. organic's require a little bit of bedding in at first

It was organic, I was too rough on it and its been probably 2,000 miles since
