What kind of engine management does everyone use or plan on using? I havent picked anything yet so I'd like to know the benefits and downsides to each...

Infinite

MS is the shit! Hands down the best thing ever for a DIYer. I would like to run a MS setup but i am still learning everything and i am comp. retarded so i am not sure if it is a good idea. I want a full stand alone. If not MS then i might just wait and save money for an AEM EMC

Can we get a summary? LOL

I just want the basics on each and why theyre good and bad... I guess if you have one type, just lemie know what you like/dislike about it and if it limits you in any ways...

there really arent any basics with ms.
you can either buy the kit and build it yourself or buy a prebuilt ecu. you have to make your own wiring harness and use gm sensors (generally) i dont really know atm how to get it to work on an sr20 but with the ka's people normally pull the dizzy and use a EDIS system off of a ford escort. refer to the itb thread for the setup for megasquirt

the power fc is basically plug and play. you can do some adjustments with the commander but to truly get the most of the system you neeed to buy the datalogit software for you laptop (350) so youcan tune the power fc through the laptop and unlock some of the options not available through the commander

Emanage Ultimate. About the closest you can get to standalone and still maintain OBD-II compliancy. Emissions are a bitch.

no, odb2 is a bitch :p
what i do for obd2 is just pull the spring out of the wastegate, put the stock injectors and ecu back in.. done

i dont know what im doing ems wise yet. i may try bikirom if they ever get a map sensor option because maf is for the fucking birds

MrBojangles

emanage can get rid of the maf :) but then I'd blow like 15 different fucking fucking codes :(.

MS is ok
Power FC we got 450whp out of nyteryders

AEM is still the best hands down if you want to spend that kind of money.

We might be chipping our own ecus with our own software here VERY SOON

Now that sounds like fun :). Mind sharing any info on your software? Like what you'd be writing it in and such?

Scotty, who tunes our honda/acuras, has gotten ahold of some software that can be used just like CROME PRO.

we have the daughter boards, and we are working on offering ECU chipping with fully usable fuel an ignition tables.

trying to get it off the ground in the next month or so
