Hey everyone,

My name's Ainsley, just moved to Atlanta about two months ago by way of New York, Philadelphia, Los Angeles, well, you get the picture.

I drive a 1993 Infiniti G20 with a fully built SR20DE+T (and too much more to write. In case anyone actually cares, you can check out the car and a spec-sheet at http://www.iheartboost.com).

Okay, so I'm sure you guys are all probably laughing at the fact I drive an FF and am posting on 240atlanta. I DO actually have a pignose S13 but it's in ohio right now with a friend of mine.

Anyway, just wanted to drop in to say hey and it was nice meeting some of you at the DGTrials event today at Turner. (I was the chick working the registration/give-me-money tent)

Thanks to everyone who came out. The event was great and I'm glad to have met some new people.

Later!
-Ainsley

edit: eh, figured I'd post a pic of the beast while I'm here... enjoy!

you're not the only FF on the site.... just the only boosted FF! sweet car. nice to meet youyay FF! yay grocery getters! yay i-can-drive-reliably-in-the-winter! wait, winter? i forgot, you guys don't have that down here in the drrty drrty. um, yay understeer? hah.

Welcome. Nice G20. I have always loved those rims.thanks! i had to wait over three months for them to ship here from japan and i can honestly say after three years of having them, they're still by far my favorite part of the car.

You have brown/black hair? Told Carina you liked her lip ring?

If so.. Hey! I remember you.

Tyleryup that was me! i had to take out my lipring when i worked for harley-davidson (go figure, makes no sense) so i get kinda boo-hoo-y when i see other people still enjoying theirs. maybe i'll go cry in a corner now.

nice meeting you today!!! I <3 JOOOOOO!!!THANKS!!!1!1!!ONE!qELEVENTYONEX0RZ@!!

ok. creampie ftw.hah SR20VET = my bank account's worst nightmare. it's bad enough that student loan repayment starts in december and about $7k of them are sitting under my car's hood. hah. VET eventually, maybe even an AWD Primera T4 conversion, but definitely not any time soon bro :(
and yes, this is "ms. erika sexy pants jacobs" although i honestly don't know how to respond to that. hah. does the sexy pants part belong to him? cause i really wouldn't be surprised. jk.
you should've screamed back! dude i had the worst migrane all day (not from the cars, strangely) and at one point i completely lost vision in my right eye so you can safely assume i was slightly wacked out all day ;)

You're on ImportFanatix out of NY, right?

I recognize the SN, and of course the G20. I haven't posted in that site in a VERY long time.yup, i haven't been on IFX in forever though. too much stuff going on in my life over the past few years (moving 15 times, graduating, buying a house, multiple job-getting, etc.) has kinda taken away all of my pre-responsibility forum time. *cries*

Hey! You made it :). Thanks again for the cupcakes!!! I'm sure I'll be seein ya out at all the DG events. I'm glad we had such a good turnout yesterday. Things really seemed to go smoothly.thanks for eating the cupcakes! i have a feeling some people were a little put off by eating mystery baked goods at a drift event. hah. hopefully we'll see you and some of the guys at the next one ;)

to be honest, i'm not exactly sure where in ohio my 240 is. i sold it to a friend for a dollar when i moved to los angeles (couldn't drive *two* cars cross country, ya know?) on the condition that i get it back whenever i want. he's been using it as a daily while he builds up his other car. i can find out though and let ya know :)

Welcome to the hell house :DThanks! but man this is one of the things i hate about the internet... maybe i don't have my sarcasm font installed (lol) but i am reallllly hoping you didn't mean that sentra comment... the G20 is an entirely different chassis (P10, P11. the sentra was B13, B14, B15) the only thing they shared in common was the SR20DE and that was only in the SE-R sentras [/rant]
sorry, i know that sounded a little harsh and i really don't want to come across as a bitch, but it's one of my pet peeves when people call my car a sentra. makes me all sad and i want to emo-kid-cry and whatnot :crying:

I didnt know that about the older ones, I just know that I have a friend with one of the newer G20s and he can take alot of the parts off of my Spec V and put it on his car.

I know alot of the Infiniti stuff will parse over to the nissan car as well.

I learn something new every day... lol

Dont go emo that wouldnt be cool ;)

I did mean the comment, but it was obivously an uneducated one.:ninja:

aww man it's all good, there was a time i didn't know either. it's just i've had to explain that a bajillion times and now i'm like sdkjghskhgjditsnotadamnsentra!!! some of the stuff will swap over like motor parts and some suspension bushings. some of the infinitis DO share chassis with their nissan counterparts (maxima/i30, 350z/g35, etc) though.
i'd LOVE to come autox but i've got some stuff to fix up first. clutch adjustments and new lifters need to go in... but definitely sometime soon i can promise you that!

Yes JM does have a nice B14 SE-R that is in the process of being blue-birded at the moment I think.U12 or U13 if you know? i had/killed two U12s. they're okay motors but you have to be careful with them since they're older. new oil pump and bearings are a must at minimum before install. ugh.

dukie pukit what type of car does she have!?the 91-96 Infiniti G20s are "P10"s the 99-02 are "P11"s. Sentras/200SXs/NX1600/NX2000s are in the B13, B14, B15 family (chassis depending on year, of course). clear? ;)

~The_Duke~

that's because everywhere other than the US and Canadia the Infiniti G20 was badged and sold as a Nissan Primera. the grills swap over. i used to have the primera badges on the trunk too but they went away w/the carbon swap. i know my car isn't a "real" primera, and honestly if i knew where my stock grill had gone to i'd put it back on. luxury car pride what what! i'm confused. the US domestic name IS the Infiniti G20. elsewhere in the world (europe, japan, australia, etc.) is Nissan Primera. it was NOT sold as a Nissan in the US/Canada, ever.

Hey, welcome to the sight! I met you at my house when you came and looked at a 240 I was selling to a guy in NY. Your car is awesome! I told you then I loved the wheels, I didn't know you had a Primera grill on the front... that's even better. Nothing wrong with an FF as long as its a nissan, I'm a big fan of maximas, in fact I'm fixing up a 90 for a daily driver which I may boost one day.

omg so good to see you bro! i gotta tell ya, jay's enjoying the car :) made it safely back to buffalo. he's already planning to fix it up a bit. i swear that kid never learns... "i'm gonna keep it stock" yeah, that lasted all of 5 minutes. lol. when are you gonna come out to one of the dg events i told ya about?? ;) hoschton is too damn far away, come to atlanta! yay civilization! (just kidding, it's gorgeous up where you live)

Hammerhead-i Eaglethrust
10-02-2007, 03:11 AM
ok, I can breathe now, I just knew you were gonna come back and say Jay's car blew up, and fuck you or something like that, but I'm really glad he's enjoying it, I probably would have kept it around if my wallet had been big enough. It had one of the better running KA's I've driven in it. Last I heard from him was about a month after he bought it, and everything was going good, he was ordering parts, fixing the little niggly things I didn't fix (with a 240 there's always something), hopefully he'll send me some pics when he gets it lowered and stuff.

About the dg event, I jumped online to sign up last monday and it had already sold out. I was debating between cobbling my parts car hatch back together to run (who cares if I wreck it its already totaled!) and just running the S14, so I ended up waiting too long and the next one is like $180 bucks, so I don't think I'll make it (unless you can get me in on the low, haha!) But I will get to one as soon as I can, I really want to.

I really enjoyed meeting you and talking to you, and I hope you like this site enough to hang around a while.

200sx in ausieland and some parts of asia is a 200sx, is a 180sx s13 hatch.

shoot, i even saw it in europe while i lived there.

changed from the ca18 to sr20det. and the sentra was a sentra, or a nissan sunny.

i still have my nissan sunny at home.

ok bye.

i never saw a 200sx sentra till i got here. i was like what the hell, they made a s13 hacth into a sentra??? waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa

yeah man, i can't tell you how often the 200sx confusion happens. they even had an oldschool 200sx here in the states that was rwd IIRC. it's also funny when people who aren't familiar with the b-chassis (or p10/p11 for that matter) get all excited like "omg you have an SR in that?!!? coolx0rz!1!" it's like, um they come stock with an SR20DE... or people will ask if i have an sr-swap. no, i have a DET-swap damnit. lol.

cool thing about the b13 sentra (one of the best chassis ever made). in mexico it was sold as the Nissan Tsuru. it is STILL sold in mexico. meaning you can get a *brand new 0-mile* B13 chassis in mexico for under $10kusd. i want.

but anyways, hi ms. det :D thank god there is another FF SR on this board lol i was beginning to feel out numbered here... and i've seen the car in S3 once before. i give it mad PUREJDM points its definately something i would have built. question? are those the NISMO GT4LMs? i thought they only came as a 5 X 114.3? did you do a hub swap from a maxima? or did you happen upon a set of 4 x 114.3? what numbers you at now? much love til later -jdm

in response to your question about the wheels... yup, they are genuine Nismo LMGT4s, straight from japan (took over three months for them to get here) and yes they are 4x114.3. they were the last set that rays japan had (hence the crappy offset, i didn't have much choice +43 was the only thing they had)
no dyno numbers yet... i have a nasty lifter tick i need to take care of and some injectors laying around that have yet to go in before i really beat on her. it's been two years since i swapped this motor in and i've only put about 10k miles on it (although i did do a new york to los angeles drive to break it in, hah). once i get the minor issues taken care of and have the ecu retuned for the new injectors, you can bet your butt i'm gonna strap her to the rollers :D

LOL DAMN now i can't use my SR badge bwhahaha oh well lol great pix. <3 teh brides (for the non jdm people its pronounced BRID not BRIDE *go american phonetics*)OMG i love you! i HATE when people call them brides! no i do not have one half of a wedding party in my car thankyouverymuch! also annoys me when people say FiveZigen. it's GOzigen, damnit.

I like the contrast between the carbon fiber and the gray paint.thanks! i like how it's reallllly subtle and you can only notice it if you're kinda close, and if the car is clean :(

we need more pics .... of yourself. lolugh, now i'm gonna feel like such a damn attention whore.... fine, here goes *gulp*

bwhahaha and yeah i agree about the 2871R it is a better quicker spoolin turbo. but if i build the engine its would be as a drag engine... again (quicker spool does help) but if memory serves me correctly (which its been a long day so it may not) the 30 has a better top end. the GTi-R bottle end and ITB quad runner system would be ideal but i'd end up running a Avenir bottom end, with knife-edged and balanced/blueprinted engine. and end up swains coating everything. and a O2 induction manifold. the Quad set up is nice but the O2 shows gains over the GTi-R for a good bit as i understand it... but right now as it sits i'm GReddy whore... i have ordered just about everything i need... and not a single thing ISN"T from GReddy lol sigh..

and yeah bwhahah GoZigen children bwbahah GO = 5 in japanese its like a girl version of what i do bwhahaha too funny

BTW you're lucky to have gotten a HS kit... (or at least i think its a HS IC kit judging by the couplers) i went to buy a pipe set (i know i know the AVENIR turbo is clocked wrong) and they were like yeah we don't exist anymore lol

Andy it isnt a Sentra!!! for the 3rd time!!

You can just swap some of the parts from the G20 to the sentra.

JM you and this chick get along quite well with all the FF turbo lingo stuff lol

ok, so the 30 is definitely a better choice especially if you do a fun build and some headwork :) i love my disco but honestly i'm already wanting to go to the 3071 just because i am a power whore. unfortunately, my bank account doesn't agree with my ideas anymore... i guess that's what student loans were for *sigh*
can i ask why you want to go with an avenir bottom end? why not something stronger if you're doing a build? knife edging the crank though, man, that's something i wanted but couldn't afford. i at least splurged and had z32 oil squirters machined in :)

can i tell you how awesome it is having someone to get all giggly-excited about building a motor with??

i like your taste in stuff. greddy/trust is teh ish. i succumb to the jdm-want occasionally too... i went so far as to get the VersaCruise ground wires instead of regular A'PEXi. oof. (build specs on my motor/car at iheartboost.com then click g20)

you're totally right about HotShot. i got my FMIC kit back in winter of 03/04 and was actually lucky enough to meet/hang out with John (owner) a few times when i was living out in Cali. he had a decent sized place a few minutes away from irwindale. really cool dude, totally down to earth and very very kind. such a shame he had to give up the business...

lol well lets see.,... the Avenir is simply a favorite, i can't remember right if the cradle for the crank is simply stronger or what not but honestly other than buying a shop stock DART or something block if i'm going to buy new pistons, bored, headwork, blue printing, knife edge there is no reason to spend the other money on the GTi-R block if theres not advantage... (other stupid reason is because the AVENIR SALUT IS FTMFW! i mean seriously getting owned by a wagon is SERIOUS OUCHness lol) and KUDOS for the Z32 squirters... it had crossed my mind and now i know its possible without interference.

i checked the site for a second (can't help myself Primera GT look is too sexy for me, i've wanted a P10 for teh longest tym3 ev4r!) but yeah i'll check it out more. lemme know when your ready for more RARE parts i have my ways and like getting stuff other poeple can't have or find... i had a HKS header 1 of 3 on this continent :bump:

awesome i've always heard he's a cool guy, too bad he closed shop i've bought quite a few headers (PLURAL as in a few cars not more than 1 per car :D)

i totally agree with you on the wagon thing. the primera came as an estate car (lol) and it's a total sleeper with the DET. if i ever become a soccermom (god forbid) i'm totally getting a dope bmw wagon. <3tehwagon<3

as for rare parts, i've got connections too ;) unfortunately, i want stuff i can't afford. i've been dying for an Impul 211SR kit for years, but that is bank. also wanna do the T4 AWD conversion but that's not happening any time soon. oof.

keep your eye out on the road for SE-R Sentras and G20s and i can guarantee you'll see more DE+Ts or swapped DETs. it's really common and incredibly easy to turbo the stock SR20DE or swap in a JDM DET :)

just looked through u pics.........dam ur seats are really close to the steering wheel......

but +kudos for the gangsta brides. JDM YOthat's because i'm tiny (5'2") and can't reach the clutch comfortably if the seat is any further back :( it's actually mounted to the front of the seat rails too, and is slid as far up as it can go.

i had been daily driving my boyfriend's '87 325i for a few months (while i was waiting on the registration for the G20) and both seats in it are broken, stuck slid back as far as possible. i couldn't reach the clutch at all and consequently had to use a folded pillow to prop my butt forward enough so i could drive it.

you guys can all stop laughing now... ;)

butt props are nice. feels good.

especially the ones with the tiny silicon beads in there. they shaped to your butt and lower back.

wonder if they made bigger beads for custom applications.

nice butt beads pillow.

It says "Before" and "After" in the pics :(

And yeah..5'2" is TINY. :-P

lol yeah i didn't feel the need to tag them "before" and "after" being that it was already on the pic itself ;)

i know 5'2" isn't really all thaaaat tiny (when compared to girls who are like 4'1" or whatever) but i swear, engineers don't consider the fact that short girls can drive stick too and never make the seats able to get close enough... hrumpf.

I have never owned a Honda (although I honestly have nothing against them. I did my first "working on cars" on Hondas... motor swaps and wire harnesses. ah, the good old days). I am a die-hard Nissan girl. My mom had an '87 Maxima that I learned to drive on, then I bought my G20, then got the 240SX, then I convinced mom to buy an '00 G20... hah.

tell him yourself. we'll both be at the DG Private Day on the 28th and the Gymkhana events coming up (dates TBA soon!!) when people ask him if he likes having a girlfriend who is into cars he says no, not particularly, and that it gets old. i dunno what his problem is ;) we actually met through car-stuff (i bought some coilovers from his online shop and then we wound up meeting several months later at a drift event without ever knowing who each other was. totally random coincidence).

your 240 looks like the first S13 I owned. It was an 89, silver, but I had to fix it from being wrecked up front. The guy I sold it to painted it flat black.
