I have a few pics/write ups, but I HATE electrical crap. I'd need like a ABC guide WITH exact pics in order to understand this. I'm trying to wire it up stock like, so I know I need to buy a sensor of somesort, but I've heard bad things about using the push-in sensor. Someone said I could use a Stanza efan temp sensor.
How much would someone charge to wire these up for me? :( Or tell me what to buy and I can meet someone somewhere to install.
The only guides I've seen specifically are for the S14. I've read posts/threads about it, but you have like 20 people telling you different things on other forums.
I found an article that you may have seen already and posted it in our DIY section:

It says for S14 but says it should work for s13 with ka24de... Maybe when you do it you could snap some pics to post for our DYI... :)

hey hey..
i did the taurus setup on my previous coupe..
it pretty much sucked.. IMO, or that car just sucked. lol
anyways..
dont go out of your way to get stock-like parts to rig that fan up.. it'll be more trouble.
go to advanced auto and get a temp. probe with a switch (auto, preferably at a certain temperature) try not to get the adjustable type.. as they were a bitch to adjust imo.
all directions are actually on the fan controller/temp probe as well.
i am also aware the T-fans have 2 speeds.. low and high, with high being a bigtime overkill, so just rig it to work with the low.. unless you want to rig two seperate fan controllers?
BTW.. you can rig one to work with the A/C fan, and another to work with a controller.
Also, you'll have to most likely modify your intake pipe to fit around the T-fan, as i had to do when i installed mine.
good luck with the T-fan though.. im going with alti fans myself :P

hmm....that might be a problem, as I have a Hotshot intake which is 3" piping. And THAT already rubs the hood sometimes.
Its always SOMETHING...bah.

i have my 1600cfm pusher fan hard wired. on all the time
So do the taurus fans really make that much more of a difference to be worth all that work? I'm guessing that you would do this mod to keep you from overheating while drifting since not as much air blows by the radiator...

Yeah, because they free up a fair amount of room + good cooling. In addition to my a/c fan not working, I got the fan for $15, and I dont have a fan shroud....:)

yes, they do indeed free up alot of room and have great cooling cap..
what you can probably do is; put it to push the air, instead of having to pull it.
i.e.. put it outside of the rad..
im not sure how much of an option that could be though.
try test fitting the fan to see how it does with the intake pipe first.

Now you got me curious as to if that is possible...

mine is mounted in front of the rad. but its a slim fan

yes^ thats what i meant, i bet you can sandwich it between the rad and the ac condensor(?), if the fan is thin enough.
however.. the T-fans dont have much of an exposed fan.. so im not sure how that'd work.

hmm...I did see a Hayden fan kit that had one that was preset to turn on @ 185F. Is that a good temp to come on at?
Also, I heard that the push-in temp probes weren't that good to use. I think I read somewhere that you can splice/use the stock temp sensor in order to get more accurate readings...?

most motors run best and produce the most power with temp readings in the range of 180-190* so anywhere in there is a good range

imo.. the stick in-type really is a bit delayed..
but hey, what can ya say.. unless we can get temp. directly from the upper rad hose, there are only a couple options.

Well, the thing is, I ordered a water temp gauge and I'll be getting the reading from the upper radiator hose for it...so I'm hoping I can figure out a way to maybe connect them directly together (fan + water temp gauge reading).

hmm..
you'd need some kind of temp. controlled relay for that..
let us know what you end up doing!
