Its about time that someone finally gives us a review on Godspeed's products. I don't want any flaming or bitching in this thread. For the money i paid for this i could have gotten proven and tested Megan coilovers, but im taking a risk, to find out for myself and others wether these are very good. I ordered them yesterday, scheduled to be delivered on saturday. I got theyr Hyper RS coilovers, for s14, tension rods, and Ruca's. The tension rods and rucas are covered by a lifetime warranty, and the coilovers are covered for a year. I will post pictures and updates as stuff comes in.

godamn about time you got some coilovers.

coilovers are decent, spring compression and height adjustment are different variables which is good, quality control on ebay is terrible so its really hit or miss. both my friends with godspeed enjoy them with no issues.

my stuff came in today. I intalled the coilovers and tension rods. I didnt have time to do ruca's yet. Initial impression was " this isnt so bad" but installation dificulty/frustration does get like a 3/5 because one of the pillow mounts is a little tough, i hope it wears in a little and becomse easier to turn, but im gonna contact godspeed on monday to see if i can get some new ones. Ride is a little firm, i have them set 8 clicks front, 9 clicks rear. The difference in handeling is SUPERB!! car is like on rails. I read a lot of people have a hard time getting the coilovers onto the ankle, all you have to do is insert the area around the top bolt of the ankle between the two bolt holes on the coilovers, and then just slide it up, using a jack. I have an s14, and the rears do seem to drop the car a hella lot more then i need, i almost felt like i got s13 coils, but i unscrewed them out and their fine now. tomorw im gonna slap the rucas on, and play with some adjustments. In the mean times here are some pix.

ok, update, they ride awsome, i lowered the dampening force a bit more so their less bump, no squeks or bumps at all!!! the pillow ball in the camber plate is getting better i put some lithium grease and pb in there, and as i drive it its loosening up some so hopefully itll be fine, or ill just get new camber plates, rucas and tension are great
carheadman
11-23-2009, 10:16 PM
the pillow ball is starting to loosen up more and more, i called god speed and they are sending me a new camber plate so ill probably just slap that on.

how bouncy are they?? or are they smooth.. im not looking into getting them cause if my coils blow i get custom race inserts.. but i was just curious.

Not many will be able to tell a difference between the cheaper coilovers.
megan, godspeed, ksport and other brands.
any coilover system on the market now will make the car handle better than worn out oem junk.
most people opt for mid-range which would include but not limited to: stance, kts/spl, pbm, tein, apexi, hks, etc. etc.
then if you have the money to spend, you can go get yourself konis or whatever they're called. This wouldn't be too ideal for a dd or people who don't even track their car.

Personally the megan race are fine but they can be a bit soft. I'm running SilkRoads and they are not too bad, I want to add some sway bars but it will literally destroy the ride.

forgot about some DMAX they aren't etc! they are better than tein!
Koni yellows > god speed
Shock quality is everything. Megan shocks are meh...but for the money you can't complain.

12-01-2009, 02:18 AM
im not complaining about the ride quality, because i was looking for something that wasnt too harsh cuz i daily the car, i havent tried teh firmer settings but maybe ill go on a mountain drive this weekend and try it. Btw update, i replaced the camber plat pillow ball, and the front left strut now turns great, but is still hard to adjust. I believe the threads are a bit tight on the bottom of the strut where it connects to the knuckle, idk wat to do, i just attach a wrench to my collar tools and use that, but any suggestions to loosen that up are greately appreciated!!!!

WHy will the swaybars kill the ride ?

o no, im gettin sway bars by them too, im just sayin about the coilovers, some people like a firmer spring rate, but these come with 9kg fron 7kg rear, and im pretty happy with how they feel

ok so i've drivin on megans, tein, jic, hks, and other random coilover sets, and i drove this car and i will have to say for 700 it rides amazing...i will say they are a little soft for my taste but i like to drive on plywood with wheels attached. they are on par with the megan streets if not a little nicer. and ride quality is about they same as the tein or the lower end hks or jic, but when it comes to the overall handling in corners with shock rebound and all that they arent on par with the big brands but i would personally buy these over the megan streets anyday.
idk i would just save a few extra bucks and get meagans they are cheap but you wont worry about the welds busting or blowing shocks or ppl talking as much shit about them haha.
pics of the car on coilovers i am dying to see them.i want to see my friend has them on his S14 and they dont go very low i think that would be the main reason i would not buy them.

i got these for much cheaper then advertised so that was the reason...they go WAY LOW. like i have it rubbin through the body harnes in the front if it goes any lower...and the rear is set almost all the way up to get the stance in the picture (im thinkin about lowering it in the rear more) but there is still more room in the front to lower...and TONS more room in the rear to slam it

carheadman
01-09-2010, 03:28 AM
they will BEYOND TUCK your rear tires...i have ppl that will vouch....i basically called godspeed up and asked what kind of bundle package they could give me on them, rucas, tension rods, and these coils....i got everything for $700 shipped! couldnt pass it up. lmk if u want the number...the front can be a little lower if i apply more preload on the springs
wheels are 17x8 and 17x9, offsets are 33 and 35 with 25mm spacers all around. they look like bbs rx but appearantly they are falken's imported from japan some years back

thnx man...the coils have ithink like 7mm preload spring in the front and dropped all the way...the rear has no preload yeat (i know i just havent got around to it) and are almost all the way up. They are set onlike 4 stiff all around. Tires are 225/45 on front and 215/50 stretched on the rear
