View Full Version : Suspension Quality Question

So i've decided to delay my SR20 for a little while longer (::sigh:: i've waited like 5 years whats a little longer) in order to tweak my suspension some so i can have a car that i feel confident to add power too. I currently have Tein FLEX type coilovers (Tein has a very special place in my heart for some reason). I'm looking at Tie rods w/ ends, pillow ball tension rods, RUCA's, front and rear sway bars, and a front strut tower bar. I've looked to Megan racing because their prices are very hard to beat, (ie Tension rods: Megan-129, Tein-220, JIC Magic-360) so i'm wondering how their quality is when compared to Tein and JIC? Is it worth it on these parts to spend several extra hundred dollars or is the quality basically the same?

rear sway bar will do more than front sway bar. it will help you get a smooth turn in. some people take theirs off altogether

Whats a good diameter for a rear swaybar upgrade? Currently i just have the Stock S14 SE rear.

O my bad forgot to mention, application is drifting and Auto-x.
My main concern with megan was also if they're reliable...they're so cheap in comparison i just don't know.

hmm moderate i'd say. I would consider myself above a beginners level but by no means a pro

21 to 22 mm will work good for you.
once you step it up you might want to go smaller.
auto x and drifting are different in many ways. adjustable suspension helps with configuration and changes.

i run a few megan suspension parts on my drift car and have been fairly pleased with them (coilovers and rear toe rods). the only problem with the rear toe rods is that they seem to be made for a S13 (not quite wide enough to fit a 14 without spacers/washers), and megan didn't seem to really care when i called them asking about it, but adding some washers was easy enough. they work fine now.

well if you're having fitment issues, however minute, doesn't sit to well with me for my car. Especially if they seem not to care that they sell a product thats kinda sub par
